Art Performance Marks 78th KCU Birthday

Pyongyang, June 6 (KCNA) -- Schoolchildren gave an art performance "Our happy holiday under the warm care of the fatherly Marshal" at the Pyongyang Municipal Youth Park Open-Air Theatre on June 5 in celebration of the 78th founding anniversary of the Korean Children's Union (KCU)

Among the audience were Ri Tu Song, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, officials of the youth league, students of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School, the participants in the celebrations of the 78th founding anniversary of the KCU and schoolchildren in the municipality.

The performance began with the prologue "March of the Children's Union". Put on the stage were colorful numbers showing the bright and cheerful appearance of the schoolchildren growing up to be reliable pillars of socialist Korea.

Performers sang highly of the immortal exploits of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il who devoted their all to bringing up the KCU members to be true sons and daughters of the country.

Folk solo and chorus "Our Father Is Best" were acclaimed by the audience as it represented the great loving care shown by the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un who regards the work for the rising generation as the most important affair of the Party and the state and spares nothing for the schoolchildren.

Put on the stage were numbers impressively showing the lively and happy appearance of the schoolchildren who realize their dreams and hopes while learning to their heart's content under the benefits of the socialist educational system.

The performance reached its climax with violin solo "Serial Revolutionary Songs", dance "We Will Inherit the Spirit of Heroic Youth" and other numbers reflecting the will of the KCU members to steadfastly cover the road of loyalty and patriotism by following the noble mental world of the anti-Japanese children's corps members and the schoolchildren's guerrillas in the Fatherland Liberation War.

It ended with poem and chorus "Ready Always for the Socialist Country" and the epilogue "Dear Father". It showed well the pledge of the rising generation to firmly prepare themselves to be successors to the revolution who firmly believe and follow only the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un. -0-
