Report of Meeting to Mark 110th anniversary of the birth of President KIM IL SUNG .
The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea(BGSJI) and the Korean Friendship Association UK held a meeting on the 2nd of April at 1400 hours in the Chadswell Centre , central London , to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the birth of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG . The meeting was attended by the members of KFA UK and BGSJI from different parts of the country as well as members of the New Communist Party , Communist Party of Britain and European Regional Society for the Study of the Juche Idea.
The meeting began with ‘The Song of General KIM IL SUNG ‘.
Dr Dermot Hudson introduced the meeting stressing the importance of celebrating the 110th anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG and of solidarity with People’s Korea.
The meeting received a statement from the DPRK Embassy in London which read in part ‘Kim Il Sung devoted his all to the people.
Kim Il Sung accepted the intentions and requirements of the people as the most sacred…. He was always among the people and closely examined their voices, breath, eyes, expressions, speeches and behaviours, so as to catch the sentiments of the times and demands of the people and formulate new policies by reflecting them.
All the state policies in the DPRK including the universal free medical care, compulsory education system, recuperation and relaxation system and that of providing people with dwelling houses free of charge are fruits of his political ideal of regarding the people as his God.
The meeting also received a message from the Revolutionary Communist Party of Britain Marxist Leninist which stressed the great achievements made by President KIM IL SUNG and his work for Korean reunification .
Dr Dermot Hudson made the keynote speech which in conclusion said that
“President KIM IL SUNG established an advanced socialist system in Korea centred upon the popular masses making Korea into the model country of socialism.
President KIM IL SUNG declared that “the people are my God “ and made sure that the people were put first in everything . The DPRK has neither unemployment or homelessness or anyone begging . We remember President KIM IL SUNG as the great leader who built an independent socialist country and a people’s paradise in the land of the morning calm.
The ideas and exploits of President KIM IL SUNG will shine forever !.
The general secretary of the New Communist Party recalled his meeting with President KIM IL SUNG in 1990 and praised his fidelity to revolutionary principles .
The co-chairman of the KIM IL SUNG -KIM JONG IL International Foundation and director of the European Regional Society for the Juche Idea praised the internationalist exploits of President
KIM IL SUNG and gave a very detailed account of the support given by President KIM IL SUNG to national liberation movements and revolutionary movements .
Speakers from the floor praised the principle of self-reliant defence established by President KIM IL SUNG and also the amazing reconstruction of Pyongyang .
Dr Hudson read out part the account “Journey to the Country of the Sun ‘ by the secretary general of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and head of Staffordshire KFA UK
Dr Dermot Hudson also spoke about the 10th anniversary of the election of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as supreme leader of the DPRK saying that it showed the people’s trust and support for respected Marshal KIM JONG UN . Moreover remarkable achievements have been made in the last 10 years . Dr Hudson also referred to the 90th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army and the successful test of the Hwasongpho 17 ICBM .
The film President KIM IL SUNG Met Foreign Heads of State and Prominent Figures April 1970-December 1975."was shown .
An exhibition of DPRK Literature including the works of President KIM IL SUNG , Chairman KIM JONG IL and Marshal KIM JONG UN was staged . A selection of literature from KFA UK and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea was also on display as well as materials from the Bangladesh Songun Politics Study Group.
Refreshments were served.
Meeting concluded at 17.36 hours.
