Our people are celebrating meaningfully 74th founding anniversary of Korean People’s Army (KPA) at an emotional time when they are vigorously advancing towards the overall development of socialism, demonstrating the dignity and might of Juche Korea to the world under the leadership of the great Party.

On this day, we are looking back upon the dignified history of the powerful KPA with fond memories.

74 years ago, President Kim Il Sung founded the regular armed forces of the Korean People’s Army on February 8, Juche 37(1948), thus achieved great feats everlasting in the history of building Juche-oriented revolutionary armed forces.

It was only two years since the KPA was founded. But it created an unprecedented miracle of defeating the U.S. imperialism boasting of being “the strongest” in the world in the 3-year-long great Fatherland Liberation War which was severe enough to be called as a confrontation between a rifle and an atomic bomb. The KPA demonstrated its true character as a genuine people’s army leaving its own indelible traces in each period of socialist construction including the one of the postwar rehabilitation.

Chairman Kim Jong Il left his first traces of leadership to our revolutionary armed forces with his visit to the Ryu Kyong Su 105th Tank Division in Juche 49(1960). The situation of our country was so harsh in the mid-1990s. At that time, he led our socialist cause along the continued road of victory, making the KPA stand as the driving force and pillar of the revolution and delivering a death blow to the incessant manifold provocations of the imperialists.

In the first morning of the New Year’s Day when the whole country was shedding tears of blood in the greatest national mourning, Chairman Kim Jong Il visited Tabaksol (dwarf pine tree) post of the KPA unit. He regarded as the most important work in state affairs to attach great importance to the military, and he placed the KPA as the main force of defending socialism which is equal to both national defense and socialist construction, as befits the army of the Party in the true sense of the word.

The KPA, which has been creating the tradition of great victory in the span of 74 years, is now making its presence felt as the crack army in the world as it is led by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the DPRK.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un cemented in every way the deterrent to nuclear war and military strength by accomplishing with credit the historic cause of building up the national nuclear force. This represents the most overwhelming victory in the history of our nation. This also represents his immortal feats of placing our revolutionary forces onto the highest stage.

At the Defense Development Exhibition - Self-Defense 2021 condensed with advanced, modern and heroic nature of the DPRK, our respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the DPRK said that we must be powerful for our coming generations. This is an actual proof of the tremendous entity of the DPRK which surely controls the situation on the Korean Peninsula, the hottest spot of the world, and firmly ensures the peace and security in the region and rest of the world.

As we hold in high esteem the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un at the top head of the DPRK Armed Forces, February 8 will be eternal with victory and great feats for all generations to come.
