More myths busted by visiting the DPRK

A few more myths were busted on our recent trip to the DPRK .

Firstly , the myth that Pyongyang is the 'city of the elite ' . Well it is not clear who is meant to be in this elite but Pyongyang unlike many cities in the Western world , a lot of industry.Large, medium and small sized factories exist in Pyongyang as do 2 power stations plus railway stations , trolleybus depots and tram depots . There are many industrial workers in Pyongyang as well as railway workers , bus drivers , tram drivers , not to mention waitresses ,cleaners , shop assistants etc . So Pyongyang is overwhelmingly a working class city , a proletarian city . Secondly , the brain-washers of the mainstream media will tell you that 'no disabled people are allowed to live in Pyongyang " but we saw several people in wheelchairs in Pyongyang . Lastly , there is the longstanding myth or basically a false story spread by south Korea and the US that no one lives on the DPRK side of the DMZ and that there are only fake or 'Potemkin' villages there .Not true , people were working in the fields and the villages clearly had real people living in them
