Pyongyang, April 27 (KCNA) -- Pak Su Chol, chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front (AINDF), issued a statement on Saturday on the occasion of the first anniversary of publication of the historic Panmunjom Declaration.
The statement said that the last year's Panmunjom summit meeting and the publication of the April 27 Declaration were a great event worth a special record in the history of the nation as they declared the start of a new journey for national reunification.
The south Korean people eagerly want to see the atmosphere of reconciliation, unity and peace going on in this land and the south-north relations getting improved continuously through the thorough implementation of the historic south-north declarations, it noted.
But the south-north relations are not making progress as desired by the nation and unanimously expected by the international community, and the atmosphere of reconciliation, unity and peace can be chilled by the frost of confrontation and war again, it said.
The reality raises an urgent need to remove the spawn of the anachronistic arrogance and hostile policy of the U.S. which is making unilateral brigandish demand to throw artificial obstacles in the way of the improvement of inter-Korean relations, and to resolutely frustrate the reckless act of the conservative forces and military warmongers of south Korea, it stressed.
In the historic policy speech at the First Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission Kim Jong Un clarified the principled stand to put the south-north relations and the struggle for national reunification on a higher level, it said.
It stressed that the AINDF will turn out as one together with the patriotic people of all strata into the struggle to invariably preserve and thoroughly implement the south-north declarations reflecting the general will of the nation, bearing in mind the firm belief that the dawn of independent reunification of the nation will surely come under the leadership of Kim Jong Un. -0-
