Some reactionaries and paid hacks of imperialism like to slander People's Korea and even dare to call it fascist ! A most ridiculous and unwarranted smear ! As a matter of fact the great leader President KIM IL SUNG fought against fascism all his life and founded the anti-fascist people's state the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG led the struggle of the Korean people against Japanese imperialism which was a shock brigade of international fascism and an ally of Nazi Germany and fascist Italy . The internal structures of imperialist Japan under Tojo were themselves fascist. President KIM IL SUNG saw the struggle for Korean independence and national liberation is being strongly linked to the anti-fascist struggle being waged by communists and progressives in many lands. He wrote in the 1937 work "On the Tasks of Korean Communists" that ;
"In imperialist countries such as Japan, Germany and Italy
which have embarked upon full-scale fascistization, fascist dictatorship has
deprived the people of democratic freedoms and all political rights and the
revolutionary movement is undergoing a severe trial. The danger of
fascistization is growing daily on a worldwide scale. Communists are countering
this situation with an anti-fascist popular front movement and making positive
efforts to organize and mobilize the broad masses in it.
In this situation, strengthening our
anti-Japanese national united front movement is the way we can contribute to
weakening the allied international fascist forces and hastening the victory of
all international
democratic forces, and help turn the international climate in favour of our own
revolution"In Korea the Japanese imperialists greatly instensfied their fascist rule and repressed the people severely as well carrying economic plunder and pillage of Korea. The great leader President KIM IL SUNG worked hard to form an anti-imperialist national unifted front in Korea which was similar to the anti-fascist popular front advocated by Georgi Dimitrov. In May 1936 President KIM IL SUNG formed the Association For the Restoration of the Fatherland , a united front body. One of its demands was to "To win the freedom of speech, the press, assembly and association, oppose terrorist rule and the fostering of feudal ideas by the Japanese imperialists, and to release all political prisoner". Thus it was profoundly anti-fascist in nature as well as anti-imperialist in content.
Whilst fighting against Japanese imperialism President KIM IL SUNG made sure that the Korean guerrillas gave assistance to the international anti-fascist forces and in particular the struggles of the Chinese, Mongolian and Soviet peoples.
Korea was liberated from the iron heel of fascist Japanese imperialism on August 15 1945 thanks to the revolutionary anti-Japanese armed struggle led by the great leader President
KIM IL SUNG . Afterwards the Korean people demolished the fascist ruling structures of the cruel and oppressive Japanese empire.Under the leadership of the great leader President
KIM IL SUNG the Korean enthusiastically set about building a new people's democratic state and carried out the anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution which basically destroyed any basis of fascism in the new Korea. Moreover on the 23rd of March 1946 President KIM IL SUNG announced the "20 Point Platform " which included the banning of fascist political parties and organisations. Thus fascism could never raise its head in
People's Korea.
A fascist puppet regime was established in south Korea under the occupation of the US army after Korea's divsion by the US. Since the 1940s south Korea was ruled by a series of fascist dictators Syngham Rhee , Park Chung Hee, Chun Do Hwan , Roh Tae Woo, Kim Young Sam, Lee Myung Bak and Park Geun Hye. President KIM IL SUNG greatly encouraged the anti-fascist ,anti-dictatorship , anti-imperialist struggles of the south Korean people.He gave wise teachings on the south Korean revolution stressing the need to overthrow the fascist dictatorship and establish democracy as a vital and central task. He also sent material aid to the south Korean revolutionaries fighting against the fascist dictatorship.
Thus the great leader President KIM IL SUNG is remembered on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of his birth as a great anti-fascist fighter who was an example for others.
