Answer of Spokesperson for DPRK Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) gave the following answer to a question put by KCNA on July 11 with regard to the release by the United Kingdom of so-called "Global Human Rights Sanctions Regulations-2020" where the UK has pointed its fingers at the several countries including the DPRK.

The United Kingdom, a puppet of the United States, committed a provocation of designating our Ministry of State Security and Ministry of Public Security as prime targets of sanctions through what is called "UK's first autonomous human rights sanction regime" issued on July 6, all contents of which are based on fabrications provided by the "defector" scum.

This act of the UK is a despicable political scheme which follows in the footsteps of the U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK. Its clear evidence is that the U.S. State Department has stated its welcome position to it on the following day.

The UK, not being content with its policy to follow the U.S. tail, is hell-bent on committing a brazen act of putting the organs for internal security of a country on the list of its sanctions.

We resolutely condemn and reject the designation by the UK of our organs in charge of state security as targets of sanctions, as it constitutes blatant interference in the internal affairs of our state.

If the UK withdrew from the EU, asserting its "identity," it should not blindly follow the U.S. tail but behave itself on its own viewpoint instead.

The UK will be definitely made to pay the price. -0-
