  The Association for the Study of Songun Politics(ASSPUK) , Juche Idea Study Group of England (JISGE), the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and UK Preparatory Committee For the 2017 Gathering to Praise the Great Persons Born of Mt Paektu issued the following joint statement in support of the statement of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army(KPA) of Wednesday  of March 2017;
 Despite the warnings of the DPRK and denunciations of the world progressive people the US imperialists and south Korean reactionary fascist puppets have started the aggressive "Foal Eagle -Key Resolve " military exercises against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea .
   Last year’s exercises, involving 300,000 south Korean fascist puppet troops and around 17,000  US imperialist aggressor troops backed by warships and warplanes were described as the largest ever . However this year's exercises will be bigger than the year before. They also involve the presence of troops from vassal states of the US.
The US navy is sending the aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, and its strike group of two guided-missile destroyers and a guided-missile cruiser, to join the Foal Eagle drills. The US Marine Corps is dispatching sophisticated F-35B stealth fighters from Japan to the Korean Peninsula for the first time.  Also nuclear submarines and  nuclear strategic bombers will be deployed.
    As the statement of the KPA General Staff says " The enemies openly announced that Key Resolve and Foal Eagle this year would involve rehearsals for putting into a more concrete shape the 4D operation for preemptive attack on the DPRK and, at the same time, drills under the simulated conditions of deployment of THAAD"
  The Foal Eagle and Key Resolve exercises are dress rehearsals for war with People's Korea  and have always raised tensions on the Korean Peninsula. They are a dry run for the invasion of the DPRK and achieving regime change by force. The aim of the US imperialists to destroy the people-centred socialist system and restore capitalism , extending reactionary colonial puppet fascist rule to the northern part of Korea. The massive show of force this year takes place amid an instense anti-DPRK campaign over the death of a DPRK citizen in Malaysia , the clamour of the imperialists over the DPRK nuclear and missile programme including the harsh UNSC sanctions and the anti-DPRK human rights furore.
   In the light of the extreme threats to the sovereignty of the DPRK and peace on the Korean peninsula  the General Staff of the KPA has warned that the KPA will launch merciless military counter-actions if they are provoked , that the KPA is on alert and ready for action and that those
who participate in these exercises and help the US will not be immune from the strike of the KPA.
These are profoundly revolutionary militant anti-imperialist measures and we applaud the stance of the KPA General Staff in taking measures to defend the supreme interests of People's Korea the bastion of genuine socialism and fortress of independence.
