IMAGE OF PRESIDENT KIM IL SUNG ENGRAVED IN OUR MINDS

IN REMEMBRANCE OF THE GREAT LEADER PRESIDENT KIM IL SUNG ON THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS PASSING AWAY

On July 8th this year it will 20 year since the great leader President KIM IL SUNG passed away . The Korean people immortalise the great leader President KIM IL SUNG as their eternal President and revere deeply with each passing day . The reverence for the great leader President KIM IL SUNG extends far beyond the borders of the DPRK . The great leader President KIM IL SUNG is remembered by the progressive peoples of the world including the Juche Idea Study Group of England.
The image of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG standing beside Lake Chon on Mt Paektu in the 1960s is an image engraved firmly in our minds.
The great leader President KIM IL SUNG is the author of the Juche Idea and  the Songun idea . He was the ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander and gifted military strategist who vanquished two imperialisms-US and Japanese – within one generation . He was the benevolent liberator of the Korean people who gave them independence and the father of the modern Korean nation, socialist Korea.
There were two central themes to President KIM IL SUNG's life . Firstly he believed in the people , stating that “The People Are My God “ . Secondly, his unswerving belief in independence. Both these tenets underlie the great Juche idea that was the creed of President KIM IL SUNG .
President KIM IL SUNG was born into a poor peasant family . He made it his life's work to free people from exploitation and oppression and imperialist tyranny . He worked for the people all his life. He believed in sharing life with the people and mixing with them . During the Korean War he said that if people eat millet , then he too would eat millet. In February 1960 President KIM IL SUNG gave on the spot -guidance to the village of Chongsan -ri and stayed there for 15 days even though it was a short journey back to Pyongyang . The guidance at Chongsan ri created the famous Chongsan ri method and Chongsan ri spirit . From 1945 to 1994 the great leader President KIM IL SUNG visited 20,600 different units or workplaces in the DPRK travelling a distance of 578 ,000 kilometres the equivalent of travelling around the world many times . He spent 8600 days giving on the spot guidance which means that every almost every second of day of his life was spent giving on -the spot guidance. This is truly amazing , no other leader in the whole world can compare !
The great leader President KIM IL SUNG made independence, independence and independence his faith and maxim . He took up the armed struggle against Japanese imperialism to win independence in the early 1930s. The band of anti-Japanese guerrillas led by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG had neither a rear base or support of a state to rely upon. Some people thought that a certain country would build a grenade factory for them but this never  happened. So the anti-Japanese guerrillas displayed the spirit of independence and self-reliance and made the Yongil bomb , a home-made grenade . Korea was liberated from Japanese imperialism in 1945 after 15 years of armed struggle by the heroic anti-Japanese partisans led by President KIM IL SUNG.
After liberation the great leader President KIM IL SUNG sure that the young people's democracy , the DPRK , held fast to the line of independence. The DPRK was not a copy of another country but everything was Korean-style . President KIM IL SUNG defeated those factionalists who were backed up by big powers . Under the leadership of President KIM IL SUNG the DPRK do not join COMECON , the economic bloc of the revisionists and great power chauvinists but instead upheld the line of building the independent national economy under the banner of self-reliance and the great Juche idea . The DPRK become famous throughout the world as the country of Juche , a state based on independence  in politics, self-sufficiency in the economy and self-reliance in defence .

President KIM IL SUNG believed in struggling against US imperialism and revisionism from an independent standpoint . He opposed compromise with US imperialism that was advocated by some but on the other hand opposed the idea of shouting super-revolutionary slogans against US imperialism loudly but doing nothing in practice . He warned against the split in the international communist movement and socialist camp. Instead of taking sides the DPRK and Workers' Party of Korea maintained relations with all socialist countries as well communist and workers' parties of all lands. The DPRK had close ties with many national liberation and anti-imperialist revolutionary  movements and gave unstinting material assistance to them . In particular KPA Air Force pilots participated in the Vietnamese peoples liberation war against the US imperialists. In 1973 KPA air-force pilots assisted the Arab people in their struggle against the Zionist aggressors.

The idea of independence was crystallised in the great Juche idea authored by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG . The Juche idea has captured the imagination of the people of the world who fight for independence . Juche idea study groups exist all over the world despite attempts to stifle the study of Juche by means of propaganda and psychological warfare . The great leader President KIM IL SUNG was an able theorist and philosopher who authored over a 1,000 books . His works were translated into many languages .
The great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG was truly a great man . He will be alive forever in our hearts and the hearts of the world progressive and revolutionary people.
Moreover we believe that it is vital to uphold the memory of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG and the Juche Idea in order to counter the vicious anti -socialist , anti- DPRK offensive of US and world imperialism against People's Korea which is upholding independence and socialism.
