  The inauguration ceremony of 10,000 flats at the fourth stage in the Hwasong area was held with splendour on February 16, 2026.

  Thus the construction of 50,000 flats in the city of Pyongyang was concluded with success, which had been powerfully carried on as the top-priority task of the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.

  In the capital city of Pyongyang, which has been face-lifted by leaps and bounds only in five years, the people see with solemn feelings the true aspect of the great WPK which regards the people as the god.

Long-Cherished Desire of the WPK

  The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 10,000 flats in Pyongyang took place on March 23, 2021 according to the grand plan for capital city construction unfolded by the Eighth Congress of the WPK.

  The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made a significant speech at the groundbreaking ceremony.

  In the speech he said the construction of 50,000 flats in Pyongyang is the work of long-cherished desire prepared by the Party with great determination to provide the capital citizens with more stabilized and civilized living conditions and it is a noble work that makes the wealth of the state and the results of creative labour of the working people the well-being for themselves.

  His speech excited the people across the country.

  As a matter of fact, the Party and the state faced too difficult and huge tasks at that time.

  Taking the construction sector as an example, the capital city construction could be called a part of the huge construction work which should be done during the eighth term of the Party Central Committee. Moreover, grave difficulties were in the way of our advance owing to the spread of malignant viral disease as a worldwide great calamity. At that time, it was a very important task nobody could imagine and decide readily to build so many modern houses and provide them to the people free of charge.

  The construction of 50,000 flats in the capital city during the eighth term of the Party Central Committee was a tough goal that could be set only by Kim Jong Un with the firm creed that the Party and the state and all things on this land exist for the people and a star should be picked from the sky and flowers grown on a rock if the people wish. It was an expression of the steadfast will of the great father who would make all the people enjoy blessings envied by the world.

Change of the Capital City of Pyongyang

 

  Over the past five years Pyongyang has been changed more magnificently and splendidly, putting itself on a new plane of civilization and efflorescence.

  The groundbreaking ceremony for the first-stage construction of 10,000 flats in the Hwasong area was held at the time when those 10,000 flats in the Songsin and Songhwa area were nearing inauguration in a year after their groundbreaking. Likewise, groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 10,000 flats in the city of Pyongyang took place every year and new street was inaugurated next year and ordinary people were provided with new houses. This became a commonplace event.

  Then how could such eye-opening realities be made?

  Kim Jong Un visited the spots on more than 10 occasions during the period from the construction of Songhwa Street to the fourth-stage construction of 10,000 flats in the Hwasong area. He guided over 1,000 designs of Songhwa Street, more than 1,630 designs of the first-stage project for building 10,000 flats in the Hawsong area, about 1,000 designs of the second-stage project and over 660 designs of the third-stage project in the area.

  Just before the mere figures, they are witnesses of the infinite and self-sacrificing devotion of the benevolent father who takes the heavy burden upon himself for the people and feels his greatest pride and happiness in it.

  Indeed, the transformation of the capital city of Pyongyang and the grand period of great prosperity of the capital city construction on this land are unthinkable apart from the devotion of Kim Jong Un.

Loud Detonation for Groundbreaking That Shook the Sky of February

  A loud detonation heralding the start of the fifth-stage construction of the Hwasong area resounded far and wide in the sky of the capital city on February 18, 2026.

  Listening to the detonation, the Korean people shed tears of emotion with the pride of the past five years and with the conviction of the coming five years.

  Kim Jong Un had new houses for nearly 60,000 families built in the capital city in five years and pressed the button of detonation heralding the start of the capital city construction again taking into account not only those experiencing the trouble of sharing houses and those living in outdated houses but also the future newlyweds.

  He declared another start of new creation and transformation as he regards the bright smile and happy life of the people as an inexhaustible strength of the Party that cannot be compared with anything and as he does not tolerate a satisfaction, a stagnation and a stalemate in the work for the people.

  In the detonation heralding the start of the fifth-stage construction in the Hwasong area, the Korean people not only contemplate the magnificent structures to be built but also are convinced of the remarkable transformation of Pyongyang, the most beautiful and great city in the world, which will be brought earlier by the absolute outlook on the people and the spirit of continuous revolution peculiar to the WPK.
