We have called this meeting to mark the birthday of respected comrade KIM JONG UN and the 5th anniversary of his election as General Secretary of the Workers Party of Korea at its 8th Congress on the 10th of January 2021.
Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has been leading the DPRK for the past 14 years and has pushed forward the Juche revolutionary cause following in the footsteps of the great generalissimo's KIM IL SUNG and KIM JONG IL. Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is holding aloft the red banner of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and self-reliance.
Dear respected leader Marshal KIM JONG UN is distinguished by extraordinary energy ,stamina, remarkable dynamism as well as profound devotion to the revolutionary cause, deep concern for the lives of the people and fidelity to the Juche revolutionary cause.
Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN made a most outstanding and significant impact at KIM IL SUNG Military University by writing a brilliant thesis on the outstanding military art of the great leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG in the Fatherland Liberation War. Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has written many works such as "LET US BRILLIANTLY ACCOMPLISH THE REVOLUTIONARY CAUSE OF JUCHE, HOLDING KIM JONG IL IN HIGH ESTEEM AS THE ETERNAL GENERAL SECRETARY OF OUR PARTY","LET US MARCH FORWARD DYNAMICALLY TOWARDS FINAL VICTORY, HOLDING HIGHER THE BANNER OF SONGUN", " THE GREAT KIM IL SUNG IS THE ETERNAL LEADER OF OUR PARTY AND OUR PEOPLE","LET US STEP UP THE BUILDING OF A THRIVING NATION BY APPLYING KIM JONG IL'S PATRIOTISM"," LET US HASTEN THE FINAL VICTORY THROUGH A REVOLUTIONARY IDEOLOGICAL OFFENSIVE!","THE CAUSE OF THE GREAT PARTY OF COMRADES KIM IL SUNG AND KIM JONG IL IS EVER-VICTORIOUS " and many other important works. He has both distinguished himself as a foremost theoretician and great thinker . He has systematised the great ideas of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG and eternal general secretary KIM JONG IL as great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.
Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has put forward the great self-development first idea , an application of the Juche idea and self-reliance. Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN said to the 7th congress of the Workers Party of Korea that “The history of the Korean revolution is the one of self-development; the revolution was pioneered and has advanced victoriously by means of it. The basis of this spirit is the great leaders' revolutionary idea that a country must carry out the revolution on its own, and the form of struggle for applying it is self-reliance and fortitude. The great leaders' spirit of self-reliance and self-development, based on the principle that man is the master of his destiny and should carve out his destiny by himself, inspired our people to become stronger than anyone else in spiritual strength, not knowing the word impossible, and to develop theirs into an indisputably powerful nation”
As general secretary of the Workers Party of Korea (WPK) , respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has actively pushed forward the work of the Party and increased its leading role over the society . Many plenary meetings of the Central Committee of the WPK have been held .Marshal KIM JONG UN stressed that the WPK should always uphold is basic principles pointing out that “Pursuing reformism by a party in its building on the pretext of the changes in the times will inevitably lead to the deviation from its original ideals and degradation in ideology and spirit, which will in turn weaken its ruling efficiency.
Transformation and innovation is a law-governed demand in party building and an essential precondition for its political leadership over the revolution and construction.
Yet, a revolutionary party should never permit any transformation or reform of the ideals and spirit it adopted at the time of its founding "
Under the guidance of respected comrade KIM JONG UN a new Central Cadres Training School of the Workers Party of Korea was opened in May 2024. I was able to visit it in October last year, 2025 . It was the size of a university . Displayed at the school are the portraits of Marx and Lenin . There is also a red flag displayed in every lecture room on the instructions of respected comrade KIM JONG UN who said that they must uphold the Red flag of communism .
Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has taken measures to eliminate bureaucracy and the abuse of power within the Workers Party of Korea . He makes sure that the Workers Party of Korea is a true people-oriented party and a people first policy .
It was respected Marshal KIM JONG UN who implemented the dual line of building the economy and defence in parallel which was unveiled at the March 2013 plenary meeting of the Central Committee .The DPRK scored great victories in building up the war deterrent force . It carried out nuclear tests in 2013, 2016 and 2017 . In November 2017 the DPRK successfully tested the Hwasong 15 International Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) , thus crossing the nuclear finishing line to become a fully fledged member of the ‘nuclear club ‘ and ‘ICBM club. The DPRK nukes defend the socialist system and its independence . If only Venezuela had nukes like the DPRK it would not have been attacked by the US. It is as simple as that .
Throughout the years of his leadership, respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has implemented the people-first policy . He has always stressed that the WPK should always make selfless devoted efforts for the people.
Under the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN a truly massive programme of construction has been carried out in the DPRK .Street after street has been built in Pyongyang such as Mirae Scientists Street , Ryomyong Street , Songwha Street, Hwasong Street and Jongwi street, to name just a few . In fact whole new districts such as Hwasong District have appeared in Pyongyang .Visiting the DPRK in October last year I saw a new urban district of Pyongyang which had not existed before.
An ambitious programme of regional development , the 20 x 10 policy which will finally eliminate differences between different regions of the DPRK has been embarked upon. At the same time many new homes are being built in the countryside .Almost every day the Korean Central News Agency reports ceremonies of moving into new homes in the countryside.
Last year 2025 started with the inaugural ceremony of regional industry factories in Jaeryong County, one of Regional Development 20x10 Policy projects. It was followed by vigorous struggle for the well-being of the people including ground-breaking ceremonies of Kangdong County Hospital and leisure complex, the largest-ever greenhouse farm and vegetable research centre, Ragwon County Offshore Farm, and ended with the inauguration ceremonies of modern regional industry factories and leisure complexes.
The DPRK is also building more hospitals . Last year the Pyongyang General Hospital was opened and a number of hospitals have been constructed in local areas.
Under respected Marshal KIM JONG UN People’s Korea is taking a great leap forward towards prosperity and to the future of communism .
