Report of 14th Joint Songun - Juche Study Session and Q and A .

The  Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) and British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea held their 14th Joint Songun-Juche Study Session and Question and Answer session on the 18th of November via skype at 1900 hours . Participating were members of KFA UK and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea from London , West of England ,Stoke On Trent , Oxfordshire and Scotland . Participants also joined from KFA Andalusia (Spain ) , KFA Germany , the People’s Korea Initiative and friends from the USA .

Questions were received about the  Juche philosophy and the role of consciousness, about crops in the DPRK , about divorce in the DPRK , about how the DPRK dealt with Covid and medicine in the DPRK . Also a question was raised about  the opening of the DPRK border.

Answering the question about Juche concept of consciousness Dr Dermot Hudson explained that “ Comrade KIM JONG IL defined consciousness as the one of the essential features of man and gave a comprehensive and profound philosophical exposition of its essence , it manifestations and the position , manifestations and position it holds in the essential features of man thus making an enduring contribution to further developing the philosophical viewpoint on man as expounded by the Juche idea .”

The secretary general of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea who is also head of Staffordshire KFA said that consciousness is one of the key attributes of man as defined by the Juche idea and reflects the ability of man to cognise his surroundings.

Referring to the question about crop cultivation in the DPRK Dr Hudson said that rice and maize are the main crops of the DPRK but also wheat ,barley , potatoes and soya bean as well as Insam are cultivated.

On the question of divorce in the DPRK  Dr Hudson said that divorce in the DPRK is rare ,although divorce laws are simple . The DPRK provides conditions for stable marriage and family life.

Dr Hudson said that the DPRK eliminated Covid 19 by its own efforts and without using foreign vaccines . The DPRK combines Western medicine with traditional Koryo medicine.

Dr Hudson in response to a question about the re opening of the DPRK border said that it was being reopened gradually.
