Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Inspects Strategic Missile Bases






Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected strategic missile bases.


He was accompanied by Kim Jong Sik, first vice department director of the C.C., WPK, and Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the C.C., WPK.


The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un examined the readiness for action of strategic deterrence directly connected with the security of the country, including the important functions and capabilities of launch-related facilities in the missile bases and the strategic missile combat duty.


He appreciated the services of the missile soldiers in the strategic missile bases for fulfilling the sacred duty they have assumed before the country and the people, being always on combat duty in a tight posture as required by the prevailing situation.


Noting that the strategic missile force is the core force playing a pivotal role in the DPRK's war deterrence, he stressed that it is an important principle of the strategy for building the national defence consistently maintained by the WPK to technically modernize overall armed forces by giving priority to the strategic missile force in the future, too.


As was stressed on several occasions recently, the U.S. strategic nuclear means pose ever-increasing threat to the security environment of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the long-term threats urgently demand that the DPRK more definitely bolster its war deterrence and take a thorough and strict counteraction posture of the nuclear forces, he said.


He stressed the need to further modernize and fortify the strategic missile bases and make all bases fully ready to keep thorough counteraction posture capable of promptly dealing a strategic counterblow to the enemies at any time in different circumstances. -0-
