Seminar of Social Scientists Held in DPRK

Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- A seminar of social scientists took place on Oct. 30 to mark the 30th anniversary of publication of Chairman Kim Jong Il's immortal work "Socialism Is A Science".

O Hyok Chol, section chief of the Academy of Social Sciences, Jo Kwang Chol, department head of University of National Economy, Ri Man Sok, department head of Kumsong University of Politics, and Pak Myong Nam, department head of Kim Il Sung University, made public relevant papers.

They stressed that Chairman Kim Jong Il is an outstanding thinker and theoretician who developed in depth the Juche-oriented theory of socialism in a comprehensive way and put socialism on a firm scientific basis.

They noted that he is a prominent statesman who defended and further glorified socialism in the worst adversity and thus proved the scientific accuracy of socialism with revolutionary practice.

Stressing that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is an outstanding leader guiding Korean-style socialism to a vigorous advance and overall victory, they said that the socialist cause of Juche is sure to emerge victorious and the vitality of socialism as a science will be everlasting as long as he leads the Korean revolution.

The speakers called upon all social scientists to fully discharge their responsibility and duty in doubling the driving force of the advance of Korean-style socialism by equipping all the people with the firm faith in the socialist cause of Juche.

Present at the seminar were Thae Hyong Chol, president of the Academy of Social Sciences, and officials, teachers and researchers in the fields of science, education, revolutionary relics and institutions for training Party cadres. -0-

ICBM Test-fire Conducted in DPRK

Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Ministry of National Defence of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea said in a statement that an ICBM test-fire was conducted on Thursday morning.

The Missile Administration of the DPRK conducted a very crucial test on Thursday. The test-fire, conducted under the order given by the head of state of the DPRK, updated the recent records of the strategic missile capability of the DPRK and demonstrated the modernity and creditability of its world's most powerful strategic deterrent.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said on the spot:

"The test-fire is an appropriate military action that fully meets the purpose of informing the rivals, who have intentionally escalated the regional situation and posed a threat to the security of our Republic recently, of our counteraction will, and it also constitutes an indispensable process in the course of constantly developing our state's strategic attack forces. As recently witnessed by us, the rivals' dangerous tightening of their nuclear alliance and various adventuristic military maneuvers go to further highlight the importance of strengthening our nuclear forces. We should never allow any threat to approach the security sphere under our state's influence. The security situation of our state and ever-aggravating prospective threats and challenges require us to continue to bolster up our modern strategic attack forces and more perfectly round off our nuclear forces' response posture. Letter to the Foreign Secretary David Lammy

Below is the text of the letter of KFA UK Chairman Dr Dermot Hudson to David Lammy the Foreign Secretary . We urge all  KFA UK members to write to the Foreign Secretary and/or to their local Member of Parliament ;

Dear Mr Lammy ,

I write on behalf of the Korean Friendship Association of the UK  in order to protest against your recent visit to the “Republic of Korea “ and the ‘joint statement ‘ of 22 October with the ROK Foreign Minister  Cho Tae-yul that was signed and then publicised by the Foreign and Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO ) of the UK.

We would point out that south Korea or the Republic of Korea is a fascist state under a far right wing regime . In south Korea people live in poverty and work the longest hours in the whole world as well as the highest suicide rate in the world .South Korea is occupied by 30,000 troops and is basically a colony of the USA.

As for the "joint statement “ issued between the UK and FCDO ,first of all the alleged presence of troops from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK ) in Ukraine as such an unconfirmed rumour . Moreover it is matter for the Russian Federation and DPRK to decide what level of co-operation should exist between them and not a matter for anyone else as this is a violation of the sovereignty of both these states.

We also note that your visit came shortly after the ROK infiltrated drones into the territory of the DPRK on 3 separate occasions which was a very dangerous provocation by the ROK .

Your visit to the ROK shows that Britain is siding with the ROK and US against the DPRK and is conspiring with them to overthrow the socialist system in the DPRK .

We urge that there should be no more British support or aid for the Republic of Korea and there should be no British troops or British warships in south Korea.  Moreover Britain should withdraw from the “United Nations Command “ in south Korea.

It is our belief that instead of the policy of hostility towards the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea , that instead Britain should adopt a policy of friendship , positivity and mutually beneficial cooperation . A post -Brexit Britain could benefit from increased trade with the DPRK as well as learning from the DPRK’s excellent example of self-reliance .

Press Statement of Kim Yo Jong, Vice Department Director of C.C., WPK

Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, issued the following press statement on Sunday:

An unidentified drone appeared in the sky above Seoul and leaflets criticizing puppet Yoon were scattered.

The military, individual organization or any individual of the DPRK did not let fly a drone. We can not confirm it and it is worthless to give answer to it.

This is an assumed situation.

Under such situation, I'd like to see once how the dirty curs in Seoul bark.

Spokesman for DPRK Ministry of National Defence Makes Public Final Results of Investigation into Case of Grave Infringement upon Sovereignty by Drone from ROK

 

Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Ministry of National Defence of the DPRK released Sunday the final results of investigation into the case of infringement upon its sovereignty which confirmed the take-off point and route and purpose of intrusion by the drone from the ROK found in the area of the DPRK capital city.

According to the spokesman, under the instruction of the DPRK government on scientifically and thoroughly proving the truth behind the case of the grave infringement upon the country's sovereignty by a drone, a military means recognized by the world, the joint investigation group involving the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of State Security and other relevant specialized organs completely dismantled the flight control module from the remains of a crashed enemy drone and analyzed the flight plan and flight log in a comprehensive way.

The results of analysis of the flight control program of the enemy drone conducted by the joint investigation group indefensibly and clearly proved the most vulgar and shameless provocative nature of the ROK military gangsters who have persistently evaded the responsibility for the illegal intrusion by their drone into the sky above the capital city of the DPRK.

The collected evidence data include 238 flight plans and flight logs worked out between June 5, 2023 and October 8, 2024, and the remaining data except the data of October 8 are the data of flight in the territory of the ROK.

According to the analysis of the flight control program, a plan for scattering political motivational rubbish is to be worked out when the flight plan is drawn out, and when the drone reaches the position reflected in the scattering plan, the flight control module is to send an electrical signal to the scattering means.

The flight data number of the enemy drone crashed after intruding into the DPRK on October 8 was analyzed.

The plan for scattering political motivational rubbish and the scattering log were recorded correctly in the enemy drone.

It was proved that the drone of the ROK military gangsters which took off at Paekryong Island at 23:25:30 on Oct. 8 and intruded into the territorial air of the DPRK flied over Jangyon County of South Hwanghae Province and the waters around the Cho Islet till the waters around Namjoap Islet, and then over Chollima District, Nampho Municipality and intruded into the capital city of the DPRK.

The enemy drone scattered the political motivational rubbish in the sky above the area between the building of the DPRK Foreign Ministry and Sungri Station of the Pyongyang Metro at 1:32:8 on Oct. 9 and in the sky above the building of the Ministry of National Defence at 1:35:11.

The confirmed objective and scientific evidence data expose that the intrusion by the drone is aimed at scattering the anti-DPRK political motivational rubbish and that the principal of the hostile infringement upon the DPRK sovereignty is none other than the puppet ROK military gangsters.

The spokesman for the Ministry of National Defence stressed once again that the last warning to the dangerous and reckless, political and military provocation by the ROK military gangsters which went beyond the limit of patience has already been made.

In the case of infringement upon the sovereignty of the DPRK reoccurs due to the blind trust in the master, seizing the ROK, the most vulgar and malignant rogue state, and its extremely bad habit of challenge, the source of all misfortunes and provocations will disappear forever by the merciless offensive of the DPRK. -0-

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Sends Wreath to Friendship Tower

Pyongyang, October 26 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a wreath to the Friendship Tower on Oct. 25 on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers into the Korean front.

Written on the ribbon of the wreath sent by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un were letters reading "We will remember the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers forever".

Upon authorization, Ri Il Hwan, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee, laid the wreath before the tower. -0-

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI ) and Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) issued a joint statement in support of the press statement of chief of the External Policy Office of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK ) titled "The U.S. will be held wholly responsible for pushing the situation on the Korean peninsula to an uncontrollable one" that was issued on Saturday 26th of October ;

The press statement of the chief of the External Policy Office of the DPRK Foreign Ministry drew attention to the increasing tension being created by the US and their puppets the ROK on the Korean peninsula . The US and ROK are staging not one but several provocative war like drills on the Korean peninsula . From the 21st of October  they staged the air drill "Freedom Flag " and involved the Australian reactionaries (another vassal state of US imperialism ) in the exercise . They have staged other drills such as "Keen Sword " and "Vigilant Defence " . As the chief of the External Policy of the DPRK Foreign Ministry correctly observes " The military drill of the U.S. and the ROK, which shows the offensive and aggressive nature more vividly in its scale, content and character, is a very dangerous military provocation aimed at preemptive and surprise strike at the DPRK."

The US has also brought the US nuclear air craft carrier "George Washington " to the Korean peninsula . It has also connived and patronised the psychological warfare and regime operations of the ROK puppets which also considerably add to the tensions.

We join with the DPRK in condemning the war provocations of the US and ROK and call  for the US and ROK to cease military exercises on the Korean peninsula .

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI ) issued a statement on the 30th anniversary of the publication of "Socialism Is A Science " by the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL 

  On the 1st of November it will be 30th years  since the  publication of the work "Socialism Is A Science " by  the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL . It can be said without any hint of exaggeration nor fear of contradiction that this was the most important piece of writing on socialism published in the last part of the 20th century and that the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL was the only leader of a socialist country and leader in the international communist movement to tackle the question of defending and expounding the scientific nature of socialism and its inevitability. Marx, Engels and Lenin had turned socialism from a Utopian dream into a science. However towards during the late 1980s and early 1990s a series of abnormal events took place namely the frustration of socialism in a number of countries owing to the conspiracy and intrigue of the modern revisionists the agents of imperialism with the socialist camp and international communist movement. As the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL wrote that :

"The crumbling of socialism in various countries does not mean the failure of socialism as science but the bankruptcy of opportunism which has corrupted socialism. Although socialism is temporarily experiencing a heartrending setback because of opportunism, it will without fail be revived and win ultimate victory for its scientific accuracy and truth".

This was a timely rebuff to the imperialists and reactionaries who taking advantage of the abnormal developments  made extremely  false and slanderous assertions  that 'socialism had failed' and socialism was in some way "unscientific " or 'infeasible'.

  The work was an unparalleled inspiration to the world revolutionary peoples looking for answer in the difficult international situation caused by the frustration of socialism in some countries . It was a real shot in the arm, a tonic for the international communist movement. The work fully proves and reasserts the scientific nature of socialism .

     Comrade KIM JONG IL  smashes sophistries about 'class co-operation ' advocated by reformists and revisionists  explaining that : 

"The exploiter class and their stooges put forward the "theory of class cooperation" and tried to block the struggle of the exploited working masses against exploitation and oppression. Within the communist movement, reformists and revisionists demanded "class cooperation" and seriously harmed the revolutionary movement, Today, traitors to socialism are also clamoring for a return to capitalism, harboring illusions about capitalism and expecting "aid" and "cooperation" from the imperialists. History shows that to expect "good will" or "class cooperation" from the exploiter class is to make a mess of the revolution."

This was a telling blow to the theories collaborating with imperialism and given up class struggle. In some capitalist countries reformists and traitors advocated  "social partnership "  , compromise with the exploiting class but the teachings of comrade KIM JONG IL in "Socialism In A Science "  demonstrates that such ideas are fallacious . All those who aspire for socialism and who are active in the labour movement should take to heart this teaching of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL and uphold like a red torch. Today under the leadership of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN the DPRK is upholding self-reliance and self-development.

         Moreover in the work "Socialism Is A Science  " the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL showed that socialism is the banner of independence for the popular masses and the means for the popular masses including the working class to realise their independence, to become masters of their destiny. Thus leader KIM JONG IL defined socialism in a fresh way  free from any dogmatic interpretations.

"Socialism Is A Science " proved the accuracy and validity of the socialist idea. It fully demonstrated the scientific nature of socialism and inevitability of its victory . At the time its publication it served a beacon or lighthouse for the socialist ,communists and progressives of the world groping in the darkness caused by the frustration of socialism . "Socialism Is A Science " was the second "Communist Manifesto". It showed the true genius of the  comrade KIM JONG IL as a great theorist and ideologist .

There is no doubt that "Socialism Is A Science " is as relevant and valid today as it was 30 years ago. It charts the way ahead for the world socialist movement . Without hesitation we recommend a deep study of this work to the progressive and revolutionary people of the UK and the world,

Press Statement of External Policy Office Chief of DPRK Foreign Ministry

 

Pyongyang, October 26 (KCNA) -- The chief of the External Policy Office of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Saturday released the following press statement titled "The U.S. will be held wholly responsible for pushing the situation on the Korean peninsula to an uncontrollable one":

Amid the extreme tension prolonging on the Korean peninsula due to the recent crucial provocation of the ROK against the DPRK, the U.S. more openly reveals its military confrontational attempt against the DPRK.

From October 21, the U.S., together with the ROK military warmongers, has staged a large-scale joint air drill Freedom Flag by drawing the Australian Air Force into the Korean peninsula. And it has resorted to extreme confrontation hysteria, openly claiming that the purpose of the drill is aimed at the DPRK.

The U.S. and the ROK are trumpeting that they would master the compound operation capability by mobilizing fighters and drones for the first time and conduct exercises for increasing the survivability in airborne infiltration into an enemy's position through the large-scale joint air drill which integrates the annual combined joint formation drill and a joint air drill Vigilant Defense.

The military drill of the U.S. and the ROK, which shows the offensive and aggressive nature more vividly in its scale, content and character, is a very dangerous military provocation aimed at preemptive and surprise strike at the DPRK.

The U.S. is staging "joint air re-supply drill" and "joint river-crossing drill" with the ROK and a large-scale marine corps' joint military drill Keen Sword with Japan. At the same time, it is further escalating the military tension while dispatching the super-large nuclear carrier George Washington task force around the Korean peninsula.

We strongly denounce the U.S. hostile act of resorting to reckless military demonstration with its allies, not content with the present political and military tension on the Korean peninsula which is exposed to the danger of a touch-and-go explosion, as a clear threat and a grave provocation to the security of the region.

The U.S. can never cover up its criminal nature of driving the situation on the Korean peninsula into an uncontrollable one with any rhetoric.

It is a fact known to the world that the ROK committed illegal and grave provocation of openly infiltrating military attack means into the sky above a sovereign state under the shelter of "military cooperation" with someone.

The DPRK keeps in sight the dark shadow of the U.S. which is hidden behind the fearless provocative acts of the ROK.

The U.S. has patronized the ROK's scattering of political motivational rubbish over the territory of the DPRK as the so-called "freedom of expression" and instigated the bellicose hysteria of its ally with frequent deployment of strategic assets and ceaseless joint military drills. The U.S. confrontation history will be exactly recorded and calculated.

If a situation that no one wishes is created on the Korean peninsula, the U.S., the arch criminal and mastermind escalating the tension in the region, will be held wholly responsible for it. -0-

G7 Is Developing into Global War Contractor Group: KCNA Commentary

Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- G7 that has come under worldwide criticism recently held a meeting of defense ministers in Napoli of Italy for the first time in its history.

At the recent confab attended by the defense ministers of G7 and even representatives of the European Union and NATO under the manipulation of the U.S., they made public a "joint statement" inciting the inter-camp confrontation, while making reckless remarks that the "framework of international security has been plunged into graver danger" by such independent and sovereign states as the DPRK, Russia and China.

G7, formed as a group for the interests of a few countries to facilitate the "economic buildup" of the West in the 1970s, held a meeting of defense ministers, the first of its kind, which is unfit for its "mission and duty".

The "moneymaking group", which is not entitled to represent the international community and "supervise or control" the sovereign states in terms of its structure, impudently dealt with global security. This shows that G7 has turned definitely into a "club of war", not a "club of economy".

It is a vivid manifestation of the double standards, a wanton challenge to international peace and an open declaration of new Cold War in the world that they justify the expansion of their defense industry and term sovereign states' exercise of legitimate rights "threats", while talking about "incompatibility-brought confrontation".

Today G7 has become the primary political servant for ensuring the U.S. hegemony.

G7's grave moves to further foster and expand the war of aggression under the pompous signboard of "international security and prosperity" are getting ever more undisguised in the Korean peninsula.

G7's interference in the Korean peninsula issue actually means the military expansion of NATO, the global war alliance.

NATO has invited the puppet ROK to its summit since 2022 and its secretary general was recently closeted with puppet Yoon Suk Yeol to discuss the intensified "cooperation system" against the DPRK.

Meanwhile, Western countries, NATO member states and member states of G7, which account for the backbone of the U.S.-led “UN Command”, are directly involved in the war drills for aggression against the DPRK.

Western countries are working hard to make the flames of war in Europe spill over into Asia, claiming "Asia and Europe are inseparable in terms of security". This grave reality seriously teaches that G7 has rapidly developed into a global "war contractor group".

The U.S. is now scheming to establish an axis of war serving its strategy for hegemony by rallying all its servants, including G7, in which war criminal states that inflicted huge damage on mankind in the last century hold a majority, and NATO, the worst-ever group seeking military confrontation.

G7 is committing an act of robbing others in broad daylight without shame and getting increasingly vocal in condemning someone's measures for bolstering up self-defensive capabilities. It had better look at its despicable image reflected in the eyes of the international community before pointing an accusing finger at others.

The more desperately G7, which is no more than a "shadow" of the U.S., slanders the DPRK's policy of the state nuclear force, bereft of reason, the more clearly it will betray its criminal colors as a harasser of peace, confrontation maniac and war merchant.

Explicitly speaking again, those who seek to deprive the DPRK of its inviolable right will have to pay a high price for it. -0-

Plenary Meeting of DPRK SPA Standing Committee Held

Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- The 33rd Plenary Meeting of the 14th Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the DPRK took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Thursday.

Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the SPA Standing Committee, presided over the plenary meeting.

Present at the plenary meeting were vice-chairmen Kang Yun Sok and Kim Ho Chol, Secretary General Ko Kil Son and other members of the SPA Standing Committee.

Officials concerned of the SPA Standing Committee, the Secretariat of the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies were on hand as observers.

The plenary meeting discussed as its agenda the issue of deliberating and adopting the Law of the DPRK on the National Anthem, the issue of electing a judge of the Central Court, etc.

There was a report on the main contents of relevant draft laws deliberated at the SPA Legislation Committee.

On the basis of study and discussion on the proposed bills, the plenary meeting adopted with unanimous approval a decree of the SPA Standing Committee "On adopting the Law of the DPRK on the National Anthem", etc.

It elected a judge of the Central Court of the DPRK. -0-

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI ) and Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) issued a joint statement  condemning Youtube's censorship of pro DPRK Youtube channels.

We recently learned that the famous Phuong DPRK Daily has been deleted by Youtube even though it had been inactive for several months due to the illness of its owner . Also the Moranbong Band channel and Chollima Front have been taken down by Youtube.

The takedown of the Phuong DPRK Daily Youtube channel is a particularly cruel ,sickening and vicious action by Youtube given the fact that she is ill with cancer.

The deletion of the three channels by Youtube , it is the latest in a long line of Youtube banning pro DPRK channels . Our old KFA UK channel was banned by Youtube earlier.

This is an outrageous act of fascist censorship by Youtube which is owned by the monopoly tech giant Google .Youtube is pandering to south Korean puppet fascism . Indeed it stands out as an example of 21st century liberal fascism !

Although  the Western countries claim to believe in ‘freedom ‘ and ‘democracy ‘ in reality they are trampling down free speech by constant censorship to stop the truth about People’s Korea being known.

Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a congratulatory message to Luong Cong, president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on Oct. 22.

The message said:

In her statement comrade Kim Yo Jong denounces the ROK puppets for their grave violation of the DPRK's sovereignty and  their serious provocation against the DPRK by infiltrating drones into the DPRK on three different occasions . Of course these actions were part of a wider destablisation and regime change programme by the ROK puppets and US imperialists.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Inspects Strategic Missile Bases

Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected strategic missile bases.

He was accompanied by Kim Jong Sik, first vice department director of the C.C., WPK, and Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the C.C., WPK.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un examined the readiness for action of strategic deterrence directly connected with the security of the country, including the important functions and capabilities of launch-related facilities in the missile bases and the strategic missile combat duty.

He appreciated the services of the missile soldiers in the strategic missile bases for fulfilling the sacred duty they have assumed before the country and the people, being always on combat duty in a tight posture as required by the prevailing situation.

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI ) and Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) issued a joint statement condemning the visit of the British Foreign Secretary David Lammy to the "Republic of Korea "(ROK) and the so-called " joint statement " issued by Lammy and the south Korean puppet foreign minister ;

We strongly denounce the visit of the British Foreign Secretary Lammy to the hellhole that is south Korea or the "Republic of Korea " . Lammy's visit demonstrated that the British reactionaries are joining hands with the south Korean fascist puppets against People's Korea and conspiring together to overthrow Juche -based socialism . This visit by the British Foreign Secretary to south Korea comes not long after the drone intrusion against the DPRK by the ROK so the UK is condoning the actions of the south Korean puppets .

It is wrong for Britain to support south Korea which is a fascist puppet regime and a colony of US imperialism where people live in poverty and work the longest hours in the whole world . The ROK is occupied by US troops. We call upon Britain to end its support for south Korea . There should be no British aid for south Korea,

As for the so-called "joint statement " issued by the ROK puppets and the British foreign secretary it is complete nonsense . There are no DPRK troops in Ukraine .It is simply a lie . British policy on the DPRK is based on lies and untruths such as this nonsense about the DPRK sending troops to Ukraine and rubbish about "human rights violations " .

It is regrettable that although the government in the UK changed hands in the last few months , the new government's policy towards the DPRK is the same as its predecessor  and continues with hostile policies towards the DPRK ,backing both the US imperialists and the scum like ROK puppets .

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Visits Construction Site for Recovery in Flood-hit Areas of Jagang Province

Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, gave field guidance at the construction site for rehabilitating the flood-hit areas in Jagang Province on Oct. 21.

He was accompanied by Jo Yong Won and Ri Il Hwan, secretaries of the C.C., WPK, and relevant cadres of the Party Central Committee.

He was greeted on the spot by Pak Hun, vice-premier of the DPRK Cabinet, Pak Song Chol, chief secretary of the Jagang Provincial Committee of the WPK, and commanding officers of the provincial regiments of Party members involved in the recovery project.

Builders of the regiments of Party members, who were dispatched to the rehabilitation areas in Jagang Province in order to implement the decision of the Party Central Committee on splendidly building dwelling houses as early as possible in the flood-hit areas of North Phyongan, Jagang and Ryanggang provinces that were severely destroyed by flooding in July, have completed the housing construction in the main by powerfully waging all-night construction struggle and are vigorously pushing ahead with the internal construction work at the final stage.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un went round the construction site for rehabilitation and learned in detail about the progress of housing construction.

He acknowledged the painstaking efforts of the builders and gave warm encouragement to them who are devoting their pure conscience and sincere efforts at the difficult and labor-consuming posts true to the call of the Party, fully displaying the spirit of devoted service for the people, extraordinary sense of responsibility and strong practical ability.

Expressing satisfaction over the fact that the flood-hit areas, reduced into ruin in an instant due to unexpected natural disaster, are undergoing a radical change without any sign of disaster, he highly appreciated the precious feats of the combatants of the regiments of Party members who are faithfully discharging their noble mission and duty as the members of the Workers' Party at the rehabilitation project site for the people in the flood-hit areas, far away from their dear houses and workplaces.

He called for working hard to bring earlier the happy moment of providing good houses for the flood victims who are waiting for the day of living in new villages and new houses even at this moment.

He referred to the fact that a series of deviations have been revealed in the design and construction of multi- and low-storied houses in the flood-hit areas, and analyzed their reasons. And he clarified the measures to be taken by the state in the future in overcoming the relevant matters arising in the rehabilitation and in launching a vigorous struggle for the overall regional construction.

Recalling that he has already stressed many times that architecture is an extension of politics as it is criterion showing the degree of the idea, national power and civilization in a visual way, and, therefore, even if a building is built, we should regard it as the one related with the self-respect, dignity and honor of our times, he said that some deviations underrating the structural quality have yet been revealed and they should be rectified.

Just like monumental edifices rising all over the country, the dwelling houses under construction for the flood victims, too, are precious assets of the state and the people that should be guaranteed forever, and therefore, it is necessary to overcome even the slightest shortcomings perfectly and direct greater efforts to ensuring perfection, he said, adding that a decision will be made to prolong the completion of the housing projects for the disaster areas, scheduled to be finished by early November, to early December.

He gave detailed instructions on taking practical measures to ensure that the inhabitants and schoolchildren of the flood-hit areas staying in Pyongyang could not feel inconvenience in their living, as regards the delay of the housing construction.

Noting that lots of houses for the flood victims are being built all at once in every flood-hit area of the country thanks to the heroic struggle of the Party members, youths and service personnel and to the support of all the people in the country, he said this gigantic work is not confined to the practical issue for housing construction but a crucial political issue of defending the character of our style socialist system based on the people-first principle and demonstrating its advantages. And he set forth the tasks for completing the project, calling on all the builders to further fully display their extraordinary patriotic enthusiasm and indomitable will so as to successfully complete the construction of houses and provide them to the flood victims with delight.

He stressed the need to further enhance the requirements and role of construction control organs.

He also gave detailed instructions on the important tasks such as the issue of ensuring timely and responsible transport and supply of materials without hindering the schedule of the project, the issue of properly greening the residential areas along with the housing construction and the issue of taking good care of the builders' living conditions.

That day the Secretariat of the WPK Central Committee decided to newly dispatch the chief and the political chief of the field headquarters for rehabilitating the flood-hit areas in Jagang Province.

Expressing expectation and belief that the Party members, youths and service personnel, whom the Party Central Committee dispatched to the difficult and arduous yet sacred and worthwhile struggle with deep trust, would remain faithful to their heavy mission to the end in the patriotic construction theaters for the country and the people, he ardently called for making redoubled efforts once again to build a splendid paradise for the people in the flood-hit areas without fail.

The UN Secretary General Guterres on the 15th of October poked his nose into the DPRK's business by taking issue with the recent actions of the DPRK to defend its sovereignty by cutting road and rail links with south Korea . Guterres has once again proved that he is nothing but a mouthpiece of US imperialism and that the UN lacks impartiality .

Comrade Kim Son Gyong,Vice-Minister for Int'l Organizations of DPRK Foreign Ministry correctly says that "I express deep displeasure over and categorically reject the remarks of interfering in the internal affairs of the DPRK unhesitatingly let loose by the UN secretary-general, the supreme official of the UN whose life and soul are objectivity and impartiality, contrary to the UN Charter's principle of respect for sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs".

It is not a matter for the UN or any other country to tell the DPRK which roads or railways that it can or cannot have .The DPRK like any other country has the right to control its own borders .

The UN Secretary General said nothing about the drone intrusion by the south Korean puppets into the DPRK . By remaining silent on this issue but criticising the DPRK over its legitimate ,sovereign actions the UN Secretary General is condoning south Korea and conniving at the conspiracy of the US and south Korea against the DPRK.

The UN Secretary General will be to blame if an untoward event happens on the Korean peninsula.

We say that the UN should not interfere in the sovereign right of the DPRK.

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI ) and Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) issued a joint statement supporting the press statement of  DPRK Foreign Minister comrade Choe Son Hui titled "The countries involved in imposing illegal and outrageous sanctions on the DPRK will have to pay a dear price" that was issued on the  19th of October;

Following the failure of the UN Security sanctions , the US decided to unilaterally set up a  "multilateral sanctions monitoring team," to replace the failed "UN Panel on Sanctions " which is now defunct . The creation of a new anti-DPRK sanctions mechanism , this time outside of the UN , is very definitely a hostile act against the DPRK. Of course sanctions are not a new experience for the DPRK , it has had to live under sanctions and blockade for over 70 years.

Comrade  Choe Son Hui points out that  "The emergence of another hostile threatening factor calls for ceaselessly adding new factors to the corresponding counteraction force for deterring it." and adds "Wrong practice is bound to entail an inevitable reaction and corresponding punishment"

The sanctions against the DPRK are simply a device to maintaining and expanding US domination throughout the world.

Those countries joining the ""multilateral sanctions monitoring team" are committing a wrongful and hostile act against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea . They are trying to deny the DPRK's existence and trying to implement what are really illegal sanctions. To our shame Britain is one of the countries joining the so-called "monitoring team ". We call upon the British government to withdraw from the "sanctions monitoring team".

The DPRK will remain steadfast in its determination to defend its independence and will  counter the undisguised sinister and hostile scheme of the U.S. and its satellite countries.

Press Statement by Vice-Minister for Int'l Organizations of DPRK Foreign Ministry

Pyongyang, October 20 (KCNA) -- Kim Son Gyong, vice-minister for International Organizations of the DPRK Foreign Ministry, released the following press statement on Sunday:

As regards a measure taken by the DPRK of physically breaking the roads and railways in the section of its side connected to the ROK completely, UN Secretary-General Guterres on Oct. 15 made seriously improper remarks, emphasizing the importance of restraint, and demanding the restoration of all relevant communication channels as soon as possible.

He successfully played the role of a spokesman for the U.S., repeating like an automatic responder such stereotyped remarks as "abidance by the UNSC resolutions" and "complete and verifiable denuclearization of the Korean peninsula" which have nothing to do with the above-said issue.

I express deep displeasure over and categorically reject the remarks of interfering in the internal affairs of the DPRK unhesitatingly let loose by the UN secretary-general, the supreme official of the UN whose life and soul are objectivity and impartiality, contrary to the UN Charter's principle of respect for sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs.

Whether we dismantle roads and railway facilities or newly build them in the territory where the sovereignty of the DPRK is exercised, it pertains to the DPRK's sovereign right from A to Z and it is not a matter to be meddled in by the UN secretary-general.

To be rightful, he should have condemned the ROK military for encroaching upon the sovereignty of the DPRK by infiltrating drones, military attack means, into even the sky above its capital city a few days ago.

He is taking issue with the self-defensive measure taken by the DPRK army in its territory, not making even a word about the ROK's wanton infringement upon the DPRK's sovereignty. This is an unpardonable and unfair behavior of double-standards.

The UN secretary-general made the prejudiced remarks, instead of standing at a strictly neutral position in the present situation on the Korean peninsula where the possibility of armed conflict is becoming a reality. It is little short of giving a green light to the U.S. and the ROK army's attempt to ignite a war against the DPRK.

In case an incident which nobody wants occurs on the Korean peninsula due to the reckless military temerity of the ROK with the back of the U.S., the UN secretary-general will never be free from responsibility for it as he incited the warmongers' fever with an undisguised behavior of availing himself of and following them. -0-

DPRK Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui Issues Press Statement

Pyongyang, October 20 (KCNA) -- DPRK Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui on October 19 made public the following press statement titled "The countries involved in imposing illegal and outrageous sanctions on the DPRK will have to pay a dear price":

Contrary to the recognized principles of international law with sovereignty equality and noninterference in internal affairs as their core, the U.S. and its vassal countries are working hard to revive the structure of sanctions and pressure on the DPRK, which went bankrupt structurally and is on the verge of collapse.

The "multilateral sanctions monitoring team," which allegedly acts on behalf of the panel of experts, a has-been involved in monitoring the implementation of the UN "sanctions resolutions" for more than 10 years, is utterly unlawful and illegitimate in terms of its justification for existence and purpose, and its existence itself constitutes a denial of the UN Charter.

I express serious concern and regret at the U.S. habitual misconduct of arbitrarily flouting the international order in pursuit of its hegemonic interests, and vehemently condemn and reject it as a challenge to international justice and the most undisguised violation of the DPRK's sovereignty.

The U.S.-led sanctions against the DPRK are by no means a new experience for us.

However, the unilateral behavior of the U.S., obsessed with the suicidal concept of pressure without sound thinking and sense of reality, and of some countries blindly following it has emerged as a threatening entity shaking the international relations to their foundations and seriously polluting the world security environment.

The emergence of another hostile threatening factor calls for ceaselessly adding new factors to the corresponding counteraction force for deterring it.

Wrong practice is bound to entail an inevitable reaction and corresponding punishment.

If the U.S. expected that it can surprise the DPRK and stop its advance with such worn-out means as sanctions and pressure, it is just a fatal misjudgment.

As clarified by the president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, the pain the U.S. has inflicted on our people has provoked a towering rage towards the U.S. and this has become a decisive factor and a strategic opportunity for redoubling our strength.

If the U.S. seeks to control the world by dint of high-handed and arbitrary practices, self-righteousness and prejudice, more countries will become interested in putting an end to the American-style hegemony and it will bring earlier the emergence of the anti-U.S. global solidarity structure.

The DPRK remains steadfast in its will to safeguard its sovereign rights, development and interests, regional and global peace and security to cope with the ever more undisguised sinister and hostile scheme of the U.S. and its satellite countries.

I take this opportunity to recall the criminal act of the ROK which violated the sovereignty and territory of the DPRK and caused the current mishap, and make it clear that the U.S. will be held accountable for it.

We will correctly remember the U.S. and the ROK, which have taken the lead in illegal and outrageous sanctions and pressure on the DPRK, and Japan, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand, which actively joined it, and record all their hostile acts.

 Some people in academic and political circles may ask, "What is the relevance of studying the Juche Idea?" There have been many philosophers, such as Plato, Aristotle, Kant, and Hegel, who advanced social sciences. In their turn, Karl Marx, Frederick Engels, and Vladimir Lenin revolutionised philosophy and made it a weapon of the class struggle. Dialectical materialism enhanced the historical role of the proletariat.

The Juche Idea was conceived amidst the battles for Korea’s liberation from Japanese colonialism during the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. Kim IL Sung founded the Juche Idea under the conditions that prevailed during the Korean Revolution. The Juche Idea has its origins in the ideological heritage of Marxism-Leninism and in the Korean anti-imperialist traditions of Chi-won  (Aim High). A new more compatible understanding of the processes at work was put forward than by previous progressive ideologies. Juche reflected the growing presence of the masses of people in shaping history, particularly in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Kim Jong IL went on to systematise the Juche Idea into a comprehensive ideological structure. Looking at the powerful role of culture and media in society Kim Jong IL authored many theories on the importance of the arts and cultural life in the revolution and construction. The military's first approach to politics (Songun Politics) was another innovation in Kim Jong IL’s thinking

Kim Jong Un developed the system of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, collecting the principles and theories of Kim IL Sung and Kim Jong IL into a single ideology. Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as stated by Kim Jong Un is an ideology reflecting the tasks and demands of the times and related firmly to practical application.

Due to the Juche Idea, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is a truly independent country in every sense and develops for its own needs. The DPRK consistently upholds socialist class principles and never compromises with its sovereignty. Everything in the DPRK is for the needs of the people and serves their interests and demands.

The philosophical structure of the Juche Idea has man (in the non-gender sense) as a social being as the master of the world in other words the motivating force in nature and society. Human Beings throughout their existence have desired independence from natural and social constraints and evolved the attributes of creativity and consciousness as a means of understanding and refashioning their environment The Juche Idea can be translated into the following main attributes, independence, consciousness, ideology, creativity, organisation,collectivism, leadership, grass-roots democracy, respect of national conditions and anti-imperialism and internationalism. Juche regards the historic effort for emancipation, for independence, as achievable through the collective endeavours of human beings building upon the inheritance of previous generations. In three fundamental areas of social activities, people, social wealth and social relations, it is man the social being who gains mastery of these aspects and remould them for the good of society. As the old Trade Union slogan states “Unity Is Strength”, so the power of the collective, whether that be of a class or a nation is an essential precondition for abstaining independence, agency of the social subject, the popular masses. The Juche Idea originated a new definition in its philosophical categories, that is political integrity, which is an individual fight at the risk of their own physical well-being for the attainment of social progress. An individual is well remembered after their demise for their political/scientific/moral deeds made for the advancement of the social community than a person who lives a mean consumerist and hedonist existence. Contained within the Juche Idea are both philosophical and social-historical principles.

It is impossible in such a brief presentation to explore the multi-faceted nature of the Juche Idea. When there are many profound crises in societies around the world and old formulations are not providing an adequate guide to action anymore. The Juche Idea presents a fresh and innovative approach to social-political issues. If one has got access to resource material on Juche, study of the Juche Idea can cost nothing but give many ideological rewards

In Western societies such as Britain which face increased calamities and where the ruling elites are so dysfunctional and disconnected, the case for studying and applying the Juche Idea is ever greater. As well examining the fundamentals of the Juche Idea, we should engage in how to implement it in relation to the historical traditions and social-political conditions of our country, so as to indigenize the Juche Idea

Juche study started in the Central African country of Mali, in April 1969. Groups and associations for the study of the Juche Idea have sprung up around the globe, and there are Juche Idea Study Groups in well over 150 countries. The International Institute of the Juche Idea which was established in 1978, coordinates the study and dissemination of Juche on a worldwide scale. In the past, the Juche Idea has been studied by the likes of the Black Panther Party and the Palestine Liberation Organisation demonstrating the anti-imperialist essence of Juche.

For some time since the Covid pandemic, our Juche Study Group has become rather inactive and displayed signs of lethargy. In the last few years, The Study Group must avoid the pitfalls of sectarianism, leftism and close-doorism agenda. We also overcome a tendency towards unilateral decision-making and involve more of our members and supporters in various kinds of activities. We call upon working-class militants, anti-imperialist activists, students and academics to join us in the mission to study and promote the Juche Idea. We have a historic opportunity to transform the future of Britain, Europe and the World into one of independence, anti-imperialism, peace and socialism!

How can someone apply to study at KIM IL SUNG University? Is that how you gained your PhD?

Yes foreigners can study at KIM IL SUNG University, this started back in 1955.

The major course for foreign students is currently a Korean language course. But recently the Information Science Department of the Faculty of Information Science, Modern Physics Department of the Faculty of Physics and Modern Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics have been fully prepared to provide satisfactory education for foreign students.

Two members of KFA Spain ,Lorenzo and Yuri, studied at KIM IL SUNG University . 

KFA Members with a proven record of activity and who work very hard may be recommended to study at KIM IL SUNG University .

My PhD is not from KIM IL SUNG University but from the Korean Association of Social Scientists, although I had to defend my dissertation in front of Professors from KIM IL SUNG University and other DPRK universities.

It was suggested in a discussion with Professor Kim Chang Gyong in October 2015 that I write a thesis , originally it was planned to be an MA but was upgraded to a Doctorate . I submitted a paper and then in April 2016 I had to defend the dissertation in front of 15 professors.

What magazines and newspapers are most popular in the DPRK on a national and regional scale? What do they write about in the DPRK press? Are there any specialized scientific magazines and women's magazines about fashion and lifestyle?

In the DPRK newspapers and magazines are distributed to every household.

The main daily newspapers are “Rodong Sinmun “(roughly translated that is Daily Worker or Labour Daily , the daily organ of the central committee of the Workers Party of Korea , Minju Choson (Democratic Korea ) the organ of the government of the DPRK  and Joson Immingun (People’s Army ) which is the organ of the KPA . These are the main daily papers of the DPRK and the most read. Most people read Rodong Sinmun . At workplaces each morning the party secretary will read out articles from Rodong Sinmun.

Additionally there are the following daily newspapers  “Chongnyon Jonwi” (youth vanguard ) the daily paper of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League  and  Rodongjia Sinmun, which is the paper of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea , and the Pyongyang Sinmun which is an evening paper for the city of Pyongyang .

Some cities and regions of the DPRK, for example Kaesong, have their own daily or weekly newspapers . Also factories and universities have their own newspapers . I actually met someone who was the editor of a university newspaper .

As to periodicals there is “Kulloja “ , the theoretical magazine of the Workers Party of Korea. There is the magazine “Chollima “ and of course KOREA pictorial .

Organisations like the Socialist Patriotic Youth League and the Union of Agricultural Working People publish their own journals.

There are specialist journals for example  Kyowon Sinmun for teachers and educators as well as journals for metallurgy and social science.

Usually the DPRK media carries articles on socialist construction in the DPRK , on the implementation of party policy , on ideological and theoretical issues  but also on sports in the DPRK , health , etc  and international affairs.

As far as I know there are no women’s fashion’s magazines in the DPRK . Similarly there are no magazines on lifestyle but occasionally the press may carry articles on lifestyle issues like diet and exercise. However the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea publishes a magazine called “Korean Women “

 Report of Meeting of the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea  12.10.2024

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea held a relaunch meeting on the 12th of October at 2pm in the Chadswell Centre , Central London . Attending the meeting were the Chairman and Secretary General of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea as well as members of the British academic community and a member of the Political Bureau of the New Communist Party and the general public.

A short message of greetings was received from Keith Bennett ,vice director general of the European Regional Society for the Study of the Juche Idea .

Dr Dermot Hudson,Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea  in his opening remarks drew attention to the strained situation on the Korean peninsula caused by the drone terrorism of the fascist south Korean puppets . He also pointed out that respected Marshal KIM JONG UN had published a new work “Officials Should Become Communist Revolutionaries Who Are Possessed of the Party’s Original Ideals and Spirit as Their Mental Qualities” which mentions revisionism and opposes reformism .

The secretary general of the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea  made a speech on the theme of “Why Juche “ in which he explained the essence of the Juche idea pointing out that the Juche idea is a people centred idea that serves the interests of the people . Moreover the Juche idea is based on the philosophical principle that man is the master and the popular masses are the master of revolution and construction . Juche is studied by many people in the world . The first Juche idea study was formed in the West African country of Mali in 1969 . The Juche idea was studied by the Black Panther Party in the US and by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

The secretary general of the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea will now be far more active than in the past in disseminating and studying the Juche Idea.

Dr Dermot Hudson reported on the recent European Regional Seminar on the Juche Idea that was held in Sofia ,Bulgaria under the auspices of the European Regional Society For the Study of the Juche Idea and attended by a delegation of the Korean Association of Social Scientists . The seminar was on the theme of Sovereignty , Independence and New International Relations. Many interesting speeches were made and new ideas for work were suggested.

Dr Hudson also made a speech about the 79th anniversary of the foundation of the Workers Party of Korea in which he said in part “Thus the WPK is truly a people-oriented party that puts the people first . It is not like political parties in capitalist countries which do not serve the interests of the people . It is also different to the former ruling parties in former socialist countries which had become divorced from the masses of people due to bureaucracy and revisionism. Unlike political parties in capitalist countries which are only for the elite or the so-called “chattering classes “ , ordinary people can join it . Whilst visiting the DPRK I have seen waitresses and drivers with WPK badges”

After the speeches there were lively discussions on subjects like how best to disseminate the Juche idea and the work of disseminating the Juche idea in the academic world .

Light refreshments were served.

Literature from the DPRK including the works of President KIM IL SUNG , Chairman KIM JONG IL  and Marshal KIM JONG UN was displayed .

The meeting concluded at 16.40 hours.
