Touching Story about Jangchon Vegetable Farm

 

The Jangchon Vegetable Farm in Sadong District which President Kim Il Sung noted down in his pocketbook as a "poor farm"

dozens of years ago has turned into a cultured socialist one to be proud of in the world and a spectacular farm reminiscent of a

rural city and its farmers’ living conditions become better off as days go by.

The President made tireless efforts to turn the village into a prosperous one which had been called a village with sterile land.

When he visited the village on the outskirts of Pyongyang for the first time, a girl agricultural assistant engineer said to him that

she received an empty envelope in the year-end account settlement and income distribution as the farm failed to do farming

well.

Being informed about it, he was so concerned that he wrote the farm’s circumstances in his pocketbook, and he earnestly said

that he would assume the responsibility for the farm in person.

Since then, the President had visited the farm in winter and summer seasons even on holidays and continuously walked along

the wet farm roads to turn the farm as a vegetable one and helped it reap rich vegetable harvest.

Nowadays, the farm came to be born in a new way as a model one of the socialist rural culture and a rich one under the great

love of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

 

An Orchard Becoming Rejuvenated

 

Kwail County, a large fruit production base, tells the benevolence of President Kim Il Sung who devoted his efforts to

providing our people with fresh and delicious fruits.

During the Fatherland Liberation War, the President presented a grandiose plan for arranging a world-level orchard and sent

hundreds of thousands of fruit saplings, with confidence in victory.

Since then, a new history of fruit farming has begun, and now the county has turned into a large fruit production base which

arouses the people’s admiration.

On Sept. 19, Juche 82(1993), the President indicated the ways to increase the fruit production, inspecting various units of Kwail County.

The large fruit production base, which was born and developed thanks to the loving care of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, is now becoming rejuvenated day by day under the wise leadership of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

All the Pyongyangites love to use the Pyongyang Metro mornings and evenings, all the year round.

This splendid underground palace, the Pyonyang Metro, also proves the warm love shown by President Kim Il Sung who

devoted his all life to people.

The President personally unfolded the plan of building the subway in Pyongyang and indicated the orientation and ways for

realizing it. He visited the construction site full of mud and personally went down to an underground cutting face in which the

water was dripping from the ceiling in order to solve the knotty problems arising in the construction.

As people’s figures waiting buses in cold winter weighed upon his mind, he, putting off his meal, visited the cutting face and

made many night journeys to align the subway route.

Thanks to the indefatigable efforts and devotion of the great father the Pyongyang Metro was built on our own, which had been regarded as impossible without the technical and material assistance of foreign country.

The Pyongyang Metro, now, is being face-lifted as a more splendid and wonderful underground palace under the leadership of

the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.
