Today , there is one country that is on the frontline of the struggle between socialism and imperialism , that country is the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK ) or People’s Korea . On April 15th it will be the 112th anniversary of the birth of the founder and eternal president of the DPRK , comrade KIM IL SUNG . Also in April it will be the 12th anniversary of the supreme leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN .The leadership of both President KIM IL SUNG as well as respected Marshal KIM JONG UN are intimately associated with the work of building a socialism of Korean style ,centred upon the popular masses and based on the Juche idea . The Juche idea was authored by President KIM IL SUNG and developed in depth by his successor chairman KIM JONG IL .
In the last few days we have seen a dramatic achievement of Juche-based socialism and the Songun (army first ) policy, namely the test-fire of new-type intermediate-range hypersonic missile,the Hwasong Pho-16-Na ,on the 2nd of April in the presence of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN . The Korean Central News Agency reported as follows “ The hypersonic glide vehicle, separated from the missile after its launch northeastward at an army unit's training field in a suburb of Pyongyang, reached its first peak at the height of 101.1 kilometres and the second peak at the height of 72.3 kilometres while making 1 000-km-long flight as scheduled and accurately landed on the waters of the East Sea of Korea.”
The new missile can evade enemy radar. We salute this great achievement of Juche-based socialism and the excellent leadership of Marshal KIM JONG UN .However the imperialists such as the US and UK have condemned the missile test because they want to stifle Juche-socialism .
In recent years we have seen massive housing construction in People’s Korea despite the sanctions of the US and UN Security Council as well as the EU . Recently , the DPRK has launched the 20×10 Policy programme of regional development .
People’s Korea under the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has rejected the so-called ‘aid ‘ of imperialism , a poisoned candy . As the great leader President KIM IL SUNG once said “It is not true that we cannot live without aid. We can not only live as well as we wish even without aid, but also build socialism splendidly, and must certainly do so”
When the south Korean puppets deliberately spread Covid 19 into the DPRK , the DPRK dealt with the situation by its own resources, rejecting the ‘aid ‘ of the US , UN and south Korea. At present the DPRK continues to reject the so-called ‘aid of imperialism .It is able to do so because President KIM IL SUNG and his successor Chairman KIM JONG IL built a strong , invincible and durable socialism.
There are many books and materials published by the DPRK and friends of People’s Korea throughout the world about President KIM IL SUNG so it is not necessary for me to speak about the history of life . Instead I will concentrate on giving an exposition of the role played by President KIM IL SUNG in the building of a Korean style , Juche-based socialism , unique in the world .
After Korea's liberation in August 1945 President KIM IL SUNG led the DPRK along the road of Juche and self-reliance .The new People's Korea of Juche was no one's puppet and not a copy of another country .Some factionalists insisted that a bourgeois republic should be built in the liberated homeland ,at the other extreme others demanded an immediate socialist revolution and instant dictatorship of the proletariat . Comrade KIM IL SUNG refuted these arguments “The Korean revolution at the present stage is an anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution. We must follow the road of progressive democracy which suits the Korean situation—neither Soviet
democracy nor American ‘democracy’. The road of progressive democracy, this is the very line, the right road, for the Korean revolution at present".
Following the line of the anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution the great leader President KIM IL SUNG founded the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the 9th of September 1948. Right from the first days of building a new country he stressed the need for an independent national economy .In the late 1950s the big power chauvinists and modern revisionists tried to subordinate the DPRK 's economy to their own by forcing the DPRK to join the old COMECON or CMEA . President KIM IL SUNG refused .The revisionists said that the DPRK should not develop heavy industry but instead should just produce minerals and agricultural products and export them . Apparently Khrushcov , the arch revisionist and traitor , once offered to supply electricity to the DPRK but President KIM IL SUNG declined this saying that the revisionists would turn off the electricity if the DPRK expressed disagreement with them .The DPRK built a independent national economy with machine building at its core . Its growth was phenomenal , hitting 36 per cent per year during the late 1950s. This compelled the British economist Professor Joan Robinson to describe the DPRK as the Korean miracle .
President KIM IL SUNG also put forward original policies on a number of issues such as agricultural co-operatisation . Dogmatists tried to oppose agricultural co-operativisation by insisting on a dogmatic textbook approach saying that cooperativization could only be carried if mechanisation was completed first . However President KIM IL SUNG said that if it was the demand of the people then it should be carried out and he led the movement for cooperativization. Cooperativization was completed in the DPRK by 1958. The DPRK had 100 per cent socially owned agriculture whereas some socialist countries either left agriculture mostly in private hands or did not reach 100 percent social ownership.
President KIM IL SUNG's put forward correct , Juche -based policies that avoided both Right and left deviations. In the 1960s the international communist movement and socialist camp became badly split due to modern revisionism and the leftist backlash to it .Many socialist countries leaned to the Right and some others to the Left resulting in grave problems arising in socialist construction . Eventually some socialist countries that had followed the revisionist and Right opportunist road collapsed . President KIM IL SUNG said that "Modern revisionism revises Marxism-Leninism and emasculates its revolutionary quintessence under the pretext of a 'changed situation' and 'creative development'. It rejects class struggle and the dictatorship of the proletariat; it preaches class collaboration and gives up fighting imperialism. Moreover, modern revisionism spread illusions about imperialism and in every way obstructed the revolutionary struggle of the peoples for social and national liberation.
We must fight 'Left' opportunism as well as modern revisionism. 'Left' opportunists fail to take into account changed realities and dogmatically seek isolated propositions of Marxism-Leninism; they lead people to extremist action under super-revolutionary slogans. They also divorce the Party from the masses".
Thus President KIM IL SUNG made sure that the DPRK did not fall into the trap of modern revisionism or Left opportunism or ultra leftism . He put forward Juche-based theories on the dictatorship of the proletariat , the economy , and the complete victory of socialism .
When some socialist countries went off the rails and went in for reform , opening up and perestroika , President KIM IL SUNG opposed it saying that "The people's government must guard against the poisonous ideas of capitalism and revisionism and resolutely fight against all attempts to infringe upon the socialist system".
He also warned against rashly opening up, pointing out that "Careless opening may allow mosquitos and blowflies to fly in and cause damage. We must conduct exchanges and joint ventures with other countries, but we must pitch mosquito nets to prevent those insects from infiltrating".
When other socialist countries collapsed like a sandcastle , the DPRK stood firm as a rock and did not go down . It maintained socialist principles when others abandoned them. Thanks to the Juche -based , original policies and lines , Korean style socialism is the most durable and is ever victorious !
The work of President KIM IL SUNG was carried forward and continued by Chairman KIM JONG IL . The baton of leadership passed to respected Marshal KIM JONG UN who became Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army in December 2011 and in April 2012 was elected to the supreme positions of the Party and the state by the 4th Conference of the Workers Party of Korea and the Supreme People’s Assembly .
The era of Marshal KIM JONG UN has been an era of rapid advance for the DPRK . Of course the DPRK has been able to advance rapidly because of the solid foundations of Juche-based socialism laid down by President KIM IL SUNG .
Under the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN the DPRK has become a socialist nuclear power , an ICBM power and a space power with Juche satellites soaring into the sky .People’s living standards have improved . Whole new streets, which are in effect the size of small towns, such as Changjon Street, Mirae Scientists Street, Ryomyong Street and Songhwa Street have been constructed in the last few years.
In today’s People’s Korea there is free health care , free education , virtually free housing , low cost food and no individual taxation . There are no homeless people , beggars or drug addicts in People’s Korea.Over the past 50 or 60 years drugs have become an all- pervasive feature of society in the West . The damage caused by drugs in human and material terms is enormous and sometimes beyond calculation; suicide , early death , unemployment ,mental impairment and many other effects . Huge sums of money have to be diverted into rehabilitating drug addicts.
I can remember my guides in the DPRK telling me that when she got married, she and her husband were given a new flat free of charge within one year , this is unthinkable here in Britain.
We must not only celebrate the 112th anniversary of the birth of President KIM IL SUNG and the 12th anniversary of the supreme leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN but defend with No Its and Buts their achievements and the reality of Juche-based , Korean style socialism .
Glory to the eternal memory of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG !

Long Live People’s Korea !
