The Korean Friendship Association of the UK(KFA UK ) together with the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK held an online meeting on the 3rd of February at 1830 hours for the 82nd anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL and the 76th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People’s Army . The meeting was held via Skype and attracted the participation of KFA UK members and members of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea from London , West of England , Staffordshire , Scotland ,Oxfordshire and Yorkshire . The meeting was also joined by international participants from KFA Germany , KFA Greece and the People’s Korea Initiative of Poland .
Dr Hudson the Chairman of KFA UK and Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea said that the 82nd anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL is celebrated as the Day of the Shining Star .
A message from comrade Lucas Rubio, chairman of the Brazilian Centre for Songun Politics was read out which said in part “ When we talk about the Korean People's Army, we remember the leadership of comrade Kim Jong Il, who was born 82 years ago. He was one of the main builders, theoreticians and modernizers of the KPA and the most important coordinator of the transition to the nuclear age of the DPRK: in the 1990s, he invested in an audacious nuclear program that was capable of giving the KPA the atomic bomb that, importantly remember, - serves to repel war, not create it! In addition to being a great leader in military affairs and implementer of the Songun Policy, comrade Kim Jong Il was an intelligent and very honourable political leader who never gave up on socialism, never proposed “reforms” and did not act like a Korean Gorbachev.”
The DPRK embassy in London sent greetings to the meeting and sent a short paper titled “ Consistent Principle and Resolute Policy Switchover” which explained in detail the new stand of the DPRK towards south Korea as put forward at the 9th Plenum of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea , the paper stated in its conclusion that “The DPRK regards that it is a mistake that should no longer be repeated to treat those, who are seeking “collapse of the government in the north” and “unification by absorption,” as the counterpart of reconciliation and reunification.
Proceeding from this, the plenary meeting recognized that the north-south relations were completely fixed as those between the two hostile states, between the two belligerent states, not as those between compatriots or those of a homogeneous nation.
Kim Jong Un declared that the nuclear deterrent of the DPRK would move over to crucial actions without hesitation if the US and south Korea attempted military confrontation at long last”
Dr Hudson in his presentation about on the 82nd anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL said that “It is actually quite fitting that we should celebrate the birth of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL whose whole life was dedicated to the defence of the independence of the DPRK and to building socialism” . He concluded that “Independence , Juche and socialism which the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL consistently defended throughout his life are also the great legacy that he was bequeathed which is carried , defended and advanced today by respected Marshal KIM JONG UN who is leading the Korean people to build a socialist paradise and surmounting all obstacles .
Thus we remember comrade KIM JONG IL as a great defender of independence and socialism on the occasion of the 82nd anniversary of his birth, February 16th.”
The secretary general of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and Chairman of Staffordshire KFA UK made a short presentation which stressed the achievements of comrade KIM JONG IL in developing the Juche idea . The speaker called for more study of the works of comrade KIM JONG IL and the Juche philosophy .
A representative of KFA Greece made a short speech and gave the greetings of KFA Greece Official Delegate Konstantin Krstallis to the meeting
Comrade Alan Bolon , KFA UK Organisation secretary and head of the KFA UK West of England read out the historic speech of President KIM IL SUNG “ON THE OCCASION OF THE FOUNDING OF THE KOREAN PEOPLE’S ARMY” which was made on the 8th of February 1948 to the review of the Korean People’s Army . The work stressed that the Korean People’s Army is totally different from the armies of capitalist countries and inherited the revolutionary traditions of the anti-Japanese armed struggle as well the need for People’s Korea to have its own armed forces.
Referring to the 76th anniversary of the foundation of the KPA Dr Hudson said that the KPA is the “a true army of the people which takes care of their lives as well as being the stouthearted and trusty defender, the sword and shield, of the Juche-based socialist system which guarantees the lives and happiness of the Korean people”
A message to respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted .
The video clip “Kim Jong Il as Film and Opera Director” from "The Brilliant History of Great Leadership" was shown along with the short documentary “Parade to Mark 70th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People's Army” and the short film “Inheritance “ was shown .
The meeting concluded 2030 with some participants waving DPRK flags !
