On Tuesday 9th of January 2024 at 1830 hours the Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK )and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea held its 4th Joint Songun -Juche Q and A and study session via Skype . Participating were officials and members of KFA UK and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea from London , West of England and Scotland as well as members of KFA Andalusia , KFA Spain , the Valencia Juche Idea Study Group , KFA Germany and the People’s Korea Initiative of Poland .
Introducing the meeting Dr Dermot Hudson ,Chairman of KFA UK and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea said that many questions had been received and that they would try to answer them all .

g question “ What is the difference between Juche-Philosophy and Marxism-Leninism?
We received some very mean accusations from the Communist Party of
Germany, that Juche would be an idealistic Philosophy that breaks with
the core principles of ML.”
Comrade Alan Bolon ,KFA UK Organisation Secretary , head of KFA UK West of England and editor of ‘People’s Korea Today ‘ in his response to the question said that “Juche philosophy takes as its starting point the recognition of a dialectical - materialistic worldview. This does not mean, however, that Juche philosophy simply inherited and developed the materialist dialectics, but it does mean that it starts from the assumptions of the materialist Marxist dialectics and has nothing in its content inconsistent with the materialist dialectics. There is no contradiction with ML. all accusations of idealism and incompatibility with dialectical materialism are only the invention of those who either do not understand Juche's philosophy or do not want to learn it and rigidly stick to the ML dogma from the era of the October Revolution and the USSR, not wanting to see that since then Marxist thought has developed retaining its original features but also enriching it with new experiences in the international struggle of the communist movement.”
Dr Hudson in his answer to the question said that the work of comrade KIM JONG IL titled “THE JUCHE PHILOSOPHY IS AN ORIGINAL REVOLUTIONARY PHILOSOPHY' which was published in 1996 should be studied by those who doubt the relationship between Marxism -Leninism and the Juche idea .
Dr Hudson explained that “ I would like to use this analogy to explain the difference between Marxism -Leninism and Juche , think of building a house , Marxism -Leninism is about the ground that the house will stand and the materials used for its construction but Juche is about those who will actually build the house.”
Dr Hudson also answered questions about the Taean Work System and the Chongsan Ri Method . He said that “The Taean work system was a new socialist style of economic management . Enterprises in the DPRK are managed collectively by the party committee . The old system of one-man management Priority is given to political work .It was thanks to this system that the DPRK avoided the shortcomings and pitfalls of some other socialist countries. The Taean work system stands out as an example of worker's control and participation. The Taean work system together with the system of unified and detailed planning and the independent national economy constitute a textbook for running a socialist economy”
He also pointed out that the Chongsan ri Method was an application of the Juche Idea .
Answering a question from KFA Germany about certain traitors to the DPRK , Dr Hudson said that they were all corrupt and degenerate elements ; both Hwang Jang Yop and Jang Song Thaek stole huge sums of money .
Questions were also raised about the people’s neighbourhood units in the DPRK , about the attitude and policy towards domestic pets in the DPRK , about how decisions at the workplace are made , about studying Chondoism , about Zhonghan suits , geographical units of measurement and DPRK-US relations.
After the answers were read out discussion continued with additional questions being asked and answered.
Dr Hudson read out passages from the booklets “ Questions and Answers on the Songun Idea” and “JUCHE IDEA -ANSWERS TO A HUNDRED QUESTIONS”.
