17 December marks the twelfth anniversary of
the death of comrade KIM JONG IL. It will be the twelfth winter without him.
The Korean comrades and all progressive people in the world mourn this great loss.
When President KIM IL SUNG died in 1994, there was already talk in the West of
the collapse of socialism in Korea. But under the wise leadership of Comrade
KIM JONG IL, the challenges of the difficult march caused by natural disasters
were overcome and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has not only
defended socialism but has become a Korean-style socialist nuclear power.
All this was made possible by the Juche idea. The Juche idea was first
developed by President KIM IL SUNG during the anti-Japanese struggle. He wrote:
„As I said to the Mainichi Shimbun journalists the other day, the long
revolutionary struggle deepened our conviction that the force of the masses is
the main factor in the solution of all problems. We must solve all problems,
relying on the force of the masses, and since revolution is a struggle of the
masses to emancipate themselves, they must rise up together. It is on this
basis that we carried out our revolutionary struggle“
Comrade KIM JONG IL deepened and further
developed the Juche idea. Among other things, he systematised it in his work
"On the Juche Ideology". The French professor Charpin said that the
work "On the Juche Ideology" was a song of hymns to the true human
cause, to the dignity and worth of man and to the true ideal and boundless
prosperity of mankind.
When counter-revolutions destroyed socialism in the Soviet Union and other
Warsaw Treaty countries, Comrade KIM JONG IL published the works "The
Historical Lessons of Socialist Construction and the General Line of Our
Party", "The Slander of Socialism is Inadmissible" and
"Socialism is a Science" one after another. Convinced of the final
victory of socialism, he wrote:
„Socialism is a science. Socialism has been
frustrated in a number of countries, but scientific socialism is as alive as
ever in the minds of the people. The imperialists and reactionaries are fussing
about the "end of socialism", with regard to the events in some
countries which had been building socialism. The renegades of socialism try to
justify their despicable betrayal, claiming that the ideal of socialism itself
is invalid. However, the truth cannot be concealed or obliterated. The crumbling
of socialism in various countries does not mean the failure of socialism as
science but the bankruptcy of opportunism which has corrupted socialism.
Although socialism is temporarily experiencing a heart-rending setback because
of opportunism, it will without fail be revived and win ultimate victory for
its scientific accuracy and truth.“
And he proved to the whole world the
superiority of Juche-based socialism by transforming Korea into a socialist
paradise with the right to work, free education, free medical care, free cheap
food, cheap public transport and no taxes.
The Korean Central News Agency reports that many foreigners are praising
Comrade KIM JONG IL: "The General Secretary of the Marxist-Leninist
Communist Party of Brazil said that Comrade Kim Jong Il, who was born in the
forests of the Paektu Mountains, chose the path of Songun politics to defend
the Korean revolution and the socialist revolution at the time when the world
national liberation movement was facing a serious challenge, adding that his
immortal deeds will be immortal for socialist Korea and the world. The General
Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Czech Republic
said that Comrade Kim Jong Il has strengthened the leadership role of the
working class and vigorously led the Korean people to victory throughout his
life, adding that they will always revere him. The General Secretary of the
Revolutionary Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist) said that
Comrade Kim Jong Il has always remained faithful to the unshakable principle in
solving the issues arising in all fields at every stage of the Korean
revolution and socialist construction. The Chairman and the General Secretary
of the Central Council of the Democratic People's Party of Indonesia said that
Kim Jong Il is a great man who has made great achievements in the world history
of human thought.
The leader of the Indian People's Party said that leader Kim Jong Il has
devoted his whole life to building a socialist state centred on the masses and
that he has always been among the people."
Comrade KIM JONG IL has received many awards and honours for his outstanding
services to socialism. He was awarded the title of "Hero of the DPRK"
four times and the KIM IL SUNG Award twice. He also received 401 orders, medals
and titles of honour from abroad.
Even though Comrade KIM JONG IL has passed away physically, his deeds for the
people and his ideological work will live on forever. And today, KIM JONG IL's
peoples-centered policy is being continued by Comrade KIM JONG UN. Proof of
this is the construction of 50,000 flats in the capital Pyongyang under the
personal leadership of Comrade KIM JONG UN, the recent launch of a
reconnaissance satellite, the overcoming of the corona pandemic in less than
100 days, which the developed capitalist countries are still unable to do
today, and his guidance in industry and agriculture. I am convinced that under
Comrade KIM JONG UN's leadership, the memory of Comrade KIM JONG IL and his
achievements will remain alive and the DPRK will celebrate many more successes.
President KIM IL SUNG and Generalissimo KIM JONG IL will always be with us!
