2023, A Year of Celebrations!
Speech for the KFA International Meeting, Barcelona (Spain), November 25, 2023
The year 2023 which will soon reach its final stage is a festive and glorious year of great celebrations!
On July 27, the 70th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War (FLW) was celebrated.
On September 9, we celebrated the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
The Korean people is full of national pride by celebrating these historic anniversaries.
And we as friends, comrades and defenders of socialist Korea are also full of happiness and joy together with the beloved Korean people.
The Korean people's historic victory in the FLW was the shining result of the great Leader Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG's wise Juche-based military tactics and strategy and the Songun (military first) leadership and commandership.
With his unparalleled Songun leadership the great Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG, the always victorious iron-willed Supreme Commander of Mt. Paektu, guided the heroic Korean People's Army (KPA) and the Korean people to victory.
The still young DPRK was the first nation on earth which won a military victory over the United States, the self-styled and arrogant "only super power".
This demonstrates the fact that also a small country which is guided by a great man who loves the nation and the people and who is loved by the nation and the people, is able to force a military power to its knees.
The Korean people can be proud of having won glorious victories over two imperialist powers in one generation - Japan and the US.
The victory in the FLW encouraged the peoples in Asia and Africa which were still fighting for their own liberation and freedom.
In the same year the Korean people celebrated the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the DPR of Korea.
The great Leader President KIM IL SUNG made the noblest gift to the Korean people with the building of the DPRK, the first free, independent and democratic state of the Korean nation.
Under the wise and resolute leadership of President KIM IL SUNG, Chairman KIM JONG IL and the respected Supreme Leader Comrade KIM JONG UN the DPRK was built as a militarily, ideologically and economically strong socialist state.
And with the Juche idea and with benevolent leadership, the great men made of socialist Korea the people's paradise in which health care, education and housing are free and the taxes are abolished.
The great men's motto The People is God made of the DPRK the real people's fairy -land in the last more than seven decades.
Thanks to its people-centered policy, the DPRK remained stable and invincible like a rock in the storm when other socialist countries collapsed one after the other.
The DPRK is the bulwark of world socialism! It became a space nation and a nuclear weapon state. Its nuclear strategy of deterrence is integrated into the Socialist Constitution.
The DPRK is the first state which characterized itself constitutionally as a nuclear weapon state.
The DPRK's military muscles of nuclear deterrence are the invincible shield of protection of national sovereignty and territorial integrity and will smash all war provocations of the US imperialists.
The Korean people can be proud of the wonderful year of 2023, a glorious year of great celebrations!
Glory to the 70th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and to the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea!
