The Korean Friendship Association of the UK together with the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea held an online meeting at 1930 hours on the 14th of August . Participants included KFA UK officials and activists from London , West of England , Staffordshire and Scotland as well as KFA Germany and the People's Korea Initiative of Poland .
Dr Dermot Hudson, Chairman of KFA UK and Chairman of the British Group for the Juche Idea referring to the 78th anniversary of the liberation of Korea said that “Tomorrow, the Korean people will mark the 78th anniversary of Korea’s liberation. They will celebrate 78 years of sovereignty and independence. The anniversary of Korea’s liberation is also being celebrated at a time when the DPRK has just celebrated the 70th anniversary of the great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War against the US imperialists and in a few weeks time it will be the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the DPRK . Of course neither the foundation of the DPRK or the victory against the US imperialist aggressors would have been possible without Korea’s independence” and concluded that “ The Korean people under the leadership of President KIM IL SUNG smashed feudalism and completely eradicated the legacy of Japanese colonial rule building a new People’s Korea on the ruins of Japanese imperialism .Today People’s Korea led by respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is well known as the most independent country in the world and is building a powerful socialist country of Juche”
Comrade Alan Bolon KFA UK Organisation Secretary and head of KFA UK West of England said that “The 15th of August 1945 is a special and memorable date. In this day, 78 years ago, thanks to the great sacrifices of thousands of Koreans in the revolutionary struggle and the strength of patriotic attitudes confirmed in the fight against the Japanese occupiers under the wisdom leadership of President Kim Il Sung, Korea embarked on the path of full liberation and full independence with the beginning of the construction of the future superpower of the state of socialism of Korean style - Juche socialism”
With regard to the anniversary of the foundation of the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK , comrade Bolon said that “On this occasion, I also, recall with gratitude the initiative of the pioneers of organisation of the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK, who had not only set up the first Songun initiative group 20 years ago, in the hard conditions of the strictly imperialist country as UK is, but had a vision to build it up as a lively and vigorous, active organisation. Moreover, the organisation has a militant character in its mission to promote Songun politics, in difficult conditions and under constant attacks by enemies”
Dr Dermot Hudson spoke about the 20th anniversary of the foundation of the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK saying that “On August 13th 2003 we took the momentous step of establishing the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK, one of the first Songun politics study organisations to be formed . We took the step because we recognised that Songun politics , which is an embodiment of the Juche idea , is a unique anti-imperialist revolutionary form of politics which meets the demands of the 21st century . Moreover as US imperialism and world imperialism were stepping up their intervention and aggression all over the world we recognised that it was only the Democratic People's Republic of Korea under the Songun revolutionary leadership of great generalissimo KIM JONG IL that was standing up to US imperialism and facing it down particularly in the tense stand-off over the nuclear issue. Songun politics administered by the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL to us was (and is) the cutting edge ideology of anti-imperialist class struggle and the shield for defending Juche-based socialism.”
The vice-chairman of KFA Germany said “We want to congratulate you for two 20 years of studying Songun politics. We also celebrate the liberation of Korea by Japanese colonialist rule. Korea was the first country liberating itself and remaining politically, economically and militarily fully souverain. Many countries in Asia and Africa
followed the example of Korea. The old imperialist colonial system collapsed, but world imperialism led by US-imperialism established the neo colonial system to regain control over the former colonies”.
The representative of KFA Scotland gave greetings to the meeting and praised the anniversaries of Korea’s liberation and the 20th anniversary of the formation of the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK.
Dr Hudson read out a statement from the Bangladesh Group for the Study of Songun Politics and the International Central Committee for Songun Study .
A message to dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted.
It was decided to organise a Songun study course.
The short documentaries ‘ Monument on the Mansu Hill “ and ‘Arch of Triumph “ were shown .
The meeting concluded at 2015 hours.
