Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Monday dedicates a co-signed article to the 70th anniversary of victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
Seventy years have passed since the historic day when the hurrahs of the victors who defeated the formidable imperialist enemies reverberated throughout the country and the whole planet was filled with admiration for heroic Korea's legendary war victory, the article says, and goes on:
The defenders of the country in the 1950s, aware of the weighty mission they undertook for the times, defended the dignity and sovereignty of the country and the world peace and security at the cost of blood and opened up a great future in the fiercest war unprecedented in the world history of wars.
The historic significance of the great victory in the war will be immortal.
The historic significance clearly teaches us what faith we should have, what we should defend and with what outlook on life and future we should fight, and inspires us to a great new victory.
First of all, it lies in the fact that the Korean people defended the dignity, honor and sovereignty of their Republic and safeguarded the environment for independent development.
It also lies in the fact that it made it possible to orient a great new history of socialist revolution and construction in our country after the war, and provided proud traditions and wealth with which our country and people can always emerge victorious.
Besides, it lies in the fact that it changed the world political structure and powerfully accelerated the trend of the times towards independence and socialism.
The article points out that our Party and people have splendidly celebrated July 27 every year not simply to mark the brilliant past but to more deeply bear in mind the priceless truth and bring about a greater victory.
The Korean people, who are steadily carrying forward the tradition of the great war victory under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, will continue to perform world-startling legendary miracles and changes in accomplishing the great historic cause of building a powerful country, it stresses. -0-
