The Korean Friendship Association of the UK(KFA UK ) and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea together with the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK hosted an online meeting for the 70th anniversary of the Korean people’s victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War. The meeting was held via Skype at 1830 hours on the 25th of July.
Participating were members of KFA UK and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea from London, West of England, Staffordshire and Scotland, also a KFA member from Ireland. Guests from KFA Andalusia, KFA Germany, KFA Poland and the People’s Korea Initiative of Poland also took part.
A message of greetings from the Korean Friendship Association of the USA was read out, it stated that ‘July 27th Victory Day, is a day to be celebrated and the Korean Friendship Association of the USA sends our greetings ‘.
Dr Dermot Hudson, Chairman of KFA UK read out the contribution of the DPRK Embassy titled “Legendary Tales of the Victorious War and 70 Years Later”, which said in part “By defeating the enemy, who were superior in terms of number of troops and technical equipment, by dint of their ideological and spiritual, strategic and tactical superiority, the Korean people defended the freedom and independence of their country and frustrated the US attempt to dominate the world with the Korean peninsula as a springboard, defending global peace and security “ and concluded “The 70-year-long postwar history of the DPRK, in which it defended its sovereignty and dignity and the safety and happiness of its people, further highlights the meaning of the 70th anniversary of victory in the war in the 1950s”
In his own contribution, Dr Hudson recalled his visit to the DPRK in 2013 for the 60th anniversary of the Fatherland Liberation War making reference to the amazing military parade and the international peace march in Kaesong. Speaking of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War he said that “Great generalissimo KIM IL SUNG employed unique Juche-based tactics during the Fatherland Liberation War. Based on the Juche idea that people are the masters, generalissimo KIM IL SUNG attached importance to the decisive role of people rather than weapons during the war. Basically, he believed that the outcome of the war is simply not decided by weapons but by those who hold those weapons”. He also pointed out that “ During the Fatherland Liberation War the mask of ‘civilisation ‘ and ‘humanity ‘ was torn off the US and there were exposed as mass murderers and aggressors who even used biological and chemical weapons against the Korean people. The Fatherland Liberation War showed that there can be no ‘peaceful co-existence between imperialism and socialism and that there must be an uncompromising struggle against imperialism.”
Comrade Alan Bolon, KFA UK Organisation Secretary and head of KFA UK West of England read out the work of great President KIM IL SUNG titled “CONGRATULATIONS ON THE GREAT VICTORY IN THE FATHERLAND LIBERATION WAR”
The head of Staffordshire KFA and secretary general of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea gave an address to the meeting saying that the Fatherland Liberation War was a ‘Songun-based people’s war “. The speaker referred to the internationalist solidarity with the DPRK including the struggle in the UK. He also referred to the need to increase solidarity with People’s Korea, saying that the defence of People's Korea should be a number one priority for all socialists and anti-imperialists. The work of KFA UK should be strengthened.
The vice-chairman of KFA Germany brought greetings to the meeting and said "Even today, the Korean people, under the leadership of Marshal KIM JONG UN, are successfully resisting the embargo and all other aggressions of US imperialism. Only recently, under the leadership of Marshal KIM JONG UN, the test firing of an intercontinental ballistic missile was carried out, which is a clear warning and deterrent to the US imperialists, as well as their puppets and vassals'
A representative of KFA Scotland greeted the meeting saying and saluted the victory in the war saying ‘Viva DPRK’
A video with a translated version of President KIM IL SUNG‘s Radio Address of 28 July 1953 was shown.
