The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI), the Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula (BSCPRKP) issued the following joint statement about the successful test fire of new-type ICBM Hwasongpho-18 on the 12th of July;
On the 12th of July, the General Missile Bureau of the Korean People's Army tested the new type ICBM Hwasongpho -18 under the guidance of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN the supreme commander of the Korean People's Army (KPA ) and general secretary of the Workers Party of Korea (WPK). The missile travelled up to a maximum altitude of 6 648.4 km and flew a distance of 1 001.2 km for 4 491s ( or 1 hour 14 minutes) before accurately landing on the preset area in the open waters of the East Sea of Korea. It was the longest flight time achieved by a DPRK ICBM. It shows a phenomenal advance in the DPRK's missile technology. The new type of Hwasong-pho 18 ICBM further enhances the core strategic force of the KPA and greatly augments the self-defensive power of the People's Korea.
As the Korean Central News Agency reported "The Hwasongpho-18 weapon system, equipped and operated by the strategic force of the DPRK under the long-term plan for building the state nuclear force, will perform its mission and duty as the most powerful, core main force means for thoroughly deterring and overwhelmingly responding to diverse threats of a nuclear war and provocative acts of aggression against the DPRK and for reliably defending the security of the DPRK".
The test fire of the new type Hwasongpho 18 ICBM was a just response to the ever-increasing and frantic US aggressive moves against People's Korea which have not only included continuous military exercises and aerial espionage but also the deployment of US nuclear strategic assets to the Korean peninsula. The so-called 'Washington Declaration ' of the US imperialists and south Korean puppets envisages a nuclear strike against the DPRK. The DPRK has every right to defend itself. The recent ICBM rest is the independent right of the DPRK which no one should interfere in.
We congratulate People's Korea on the successful ICBM test. It is a great victory, a victory of the Juche idea and Songun idea. It is significant that the ICBM test came within 15 days of the 70th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War against the US imperialists. Victory belongs to People's Korea and the great Juche idea!
