ASSPUK , BGSJI , KFA UK and BSCPRKP support Marshal Ri Pyong Chol's statement

The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK) ,  the British Group for the Study of the  Juche Idea(BGSJI), the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK(KFA UK) and the British Solidarity Committee For Peace and Reunification on the Korean peninsula (BSCPRKP) issued the following joint statement in support of the statement issued by Marshal Ri Pyong Chol, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK and vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, that was made on the 17th of April ;

In his statement, Marshal Ri Pyong Chol gave a tough warning to the US imperialists and the south Korean puppet fascist gang who have greatly increased tension on the Korean Peninsula and wrongfully referred the issue of the DPRK's self-defensive measures to the UN Security Council (UNSC). As Marshal Ri Pyong Chol rightly says  "the U.S. attempt to pull up the DPRK over the exercise of its deserved right to self-defence, describing it as a "provocation" and "threat", by instigating the UNSC, as an undisguised disregard for the sovereignty of the DPRK and an obvious interference in its internal affairs."

The test of the Hwasong-pho 18 ICBM by the DPRK was a just self-defensive measure of the DPRK. Firstly, it is to increase the ability of the DPRK to deter war and maintain peace on the Korean peninsula. Secondly, it was a justified counter-action to the incessant military drills of the US and south Korea which have included regime change operations.

On the 13th and 14th of April, the US and south Korea carried out air drills with nuclear bombers. As Marshal Ri Pyong Chol notes "It is clear proof that nuclear threat and blackmail against the DPRK have reached a level that can never be overlooked"

The discussion of the DPRK's ICBM test at the UNSC was not only a blatant interference in the DPRK's internal affairs as well as a criminal violation of its sovereignty but also betrayed the double standards and hypocrisy of the UNSC which has failed to censure the US and south Korea for constantly carrying out military exercises and threatening to invade the DPRK. The UNSC is siding with the thief and not the victim.

We say that the UNSC should show impartiality and respect the sovereignty of the DPRK. Moreover, we fully support the tough warning given by Marshal Ri Pyong Chol .

The US should stop its provocations and warmongering at once!
