The Association for the Study of Songun Politics(ASSPUK), the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (GSJI), the Korean Friendship Association of the UK ( KFA UK) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula (BSCPRKP)issued the following joint statement in support of the press statement of the chief of Foreign News Section of Department of Press and Information of DPRK Foreign Ministry(FM);
On Monday 6th of March, the US imperialists flew a nuclear strategic bomber B-52 to the Korean peninsula. Such an act was a very grave threat to People's Korea. As the press statement of the chief of the Foreign News Section of the Department of Press and Information of DPRK FM states it is "a reckless military provocation pushing the situation in the Korean peninsula deeper into the bottomless quagmire"
This latest provocation by the US imperialist warmongers precedes a series of military exercises by the US and south Korea including 'Freedom Shield ' which include 'leadership removal ' operations. It is very clear that the US and south Korea are eyeing the forcible overthrow of the socialist system. The actions of the US and south Korea increase the danger of physical confrontation on the Korean peninsula and actual nuclear war. The consequences of such a scenario would be totally unthinkable.
Therefore we support the call made by the chief of the Foreign News Section of the Department of Press and Information of DPRK FM for the international community to join with the DPRK in calling for a halt to the military drills of the US and south Korea.
We believe that the US and south Korean military drills should stop at once .
