           The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK,the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea Study ,the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula(BSCPRKP) today issued a statement supporting thePress Statement of DPRK Permanent Mission to UN;

On Friday 17th of March , the US imperialists and their vassal states including the Albanian traitors to socialism tabled the 'human rights isssue ' of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK)  at the UN Security Council  . This was not only a truly hostile action towards the DPRK but also an abuse of the United Nations and an affront to the independence of the DPRK.

We would ask why the DPRK was not invited to the UN Security Council meeting to defend itself against the unfair allegations.

As the Permanent Mission of the DPRK to the UN most correctly points out "What deserves to be called to account at the UNSC is the U.S. atrocity against humanity - its invasion of sovereign states and massacre of innocent civilians in wanton violation of the universally accepted international laws including the UN Charter." Indeed the UN Security Council has never taken issue with the many invasions of independent countries carried out by the US or the crimes against humanity committed by the US imperialists.

The  illicit and one-sided  UN Security Council meeting on the non-existent human rights issue of the DPRK was held at a time when the US is threatening the DPRK with talk of'extended deterrence ' and holding the 'Freedom Shield ' war exercise with south Korea against the DPRK . This is clearly an attempt by the US to use the UN to intimdidate and put pressure on the DPRK ,

As the DPRK UN Mission states " The UN should never be misused as a political means of the U.S. to blackmail and apply pressure on independent sovereign states of its dislike whenever it pleases.".

We strongly support the resolve of the DPRK to defend its independence and its socialist system . We strongly reject the misuse of the UN for  political pressure and regime change purposes .
