US Armed Spy Ship Moored in Pyongyang

On January 23, 55 years ago, the US armed spy ship Pueblo was captured by the sailors of the Navy of the Korean People’s Army while committing acts of espionage in the sea off Wonsan. It was the first time that an armed spy ship of the United States was captured by another country in its history.

The US drove the situation of the Korean peninsula to the brink of war clamouring for “retaliation.” All the people of the DPRK rose up to defend their national sovereignty with the revolutionary will to return retaliation for “retaliation” and all-out war for “all-out war.” At last the US administration had no option but to submit a letter of apology to the DPRK government.

Now the Pueblo is tied on the banks of the Pothong River, where the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum is located.
