75 years ago, on February 8, Juche 37 (1948), the great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung founded the Korean People's Army (KPA), the regular armed force of the new and democratic Korea.
He had liberated Korea from the colonial yoke of Japanese imperialism and strengthened the Korean People's Revolutionary Army into the Korean People's Army, the regular armed force.
The KPA inherited the glorious revolutionary traditions of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA).
Soon after the foundation of the DPRK, the Republic and its KPA were faced with the harshest trial in their young history.
The US imperialists and its 15 satellite vassal armies attacked the DPRK on June 25, 1950 and started the Korean War.
Generalissimo Kim Il Sung guided the Korean people in its fight for the Fatherland Liberation War and the KPA brought the US imperialist aggressors to knee after a hard three-year long war with a brilliant victory under the leadership of the President. .
Under the supreme command of the great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, the ever-victorious iron-willed commander and strategist, the KPA won a glorious world-shaking triumph by defeating the US imperialists and their vassal forces. The KPA is the first army in world history which defeated the "strongest military power of the world", the United States.
Thanks to the unparalleled Juche commandership and war tactics of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and the single-minded unity of the whole Korean people around him and around the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), this historic victory was achieved.
Under the brilliant leadership of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung and the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il, the KPA resolutely smashed all war provocations of US imperialism in the decades since the end of the Korean War. Thanks to Generalissimo Kim Jong Il's army-first policy and his leadership over the revolutionary armed forces, the DPRK became a military power of the world.
Today the DPRK became a nuclear state with inexhaustible military capacity under the seasoned leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
The state's policy on its nuclear force was legalized last year. The DPRK is the only country which fixed by law its policy on its nuclear force.
As the KPA is the invincible iron shield of defence of socialist Korea. no enemy dares to attack again the DPRK.
Indeed, the 75-year history of the KPA is a proud history of great and brilliant victories and glory!
