The Korean Friendship Association of the UK , the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK held an online meeting to remember the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL and to mark the 105th anniversary of the birth of the immortal anti-Japanese war heroine Madame KIM JONG SUK as well other DPRK keynote anniversaries such as the 31st anniversary of the election of comrade KIM JONG IL as Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army , the 11th anniversary of the election of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as KPA Supreme Commander and the anniversary of the slogan ‘Let Us Live Our Own Way ‘ . Participating were members , officials and activists of KFA UK , the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and ASSPUK from London , West of England , Scotland and Staffordshire . Also participating were KFA Greece and KFA Bulgaria .
Messages were received from KFA Switzerland and also the European Regional Society for the Study of the Juche Idea . The message from KFA Switzerland read in part “ we commemorate the sad anniversary of the demise of the great Leader Comrade KIM JONG IL - this year the 11th anniversary of his demise. We praise wholeheartedly his unparalleled and immortal exploits for the happiness of the Korean nation and people. He was the good-hearted and benevolent father of the people.” . The message from the European Regional Society for the Study of the Juche Idea declared that “The demise of Comrade KIM JONG IL was a bolt from the blue and the most bitter loss not only to the Korean people but also to their friends, to the international communist movement, and to all anti-imperialists and progressive people throughout the world”.
Dr Dermot Hudson Chairman of KFA UK and Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea made an address about the the 11th anniversary of the passing away of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL in which he pointed out that “Comrade KIM JONG IL was often dressed in the same simple clothes as Korean working people . He wore the same parka for many years .He was a true people’s leader who once said that flowers should be made to bloom on a rock if it was for the people.’ and concluded by saying that ‘Although eleven years have passed since comrade KIM JONG IL passed away , the vitality of his ideas shines even brighter today and his work is carried forward by his successor dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN . People's Korea ,which was the legacy of comrade KIM JONG IL , today is prospering despite the extreme sanctions of the imperialists.
We join with the people of the DPRK , with KFA branches and organisations throughout the world and Juche idea study organisations in remembering comrade KIM JONG IL , the great leader of the Korean people.”
Speaking about the 105th anniversary of the birth of anti-Japanese revolutionary fighter and Mother of Korea , comrade Alan Bolon KFA UK Organisation Secretary and head of KFA UK West of England said that ‘ This year, on December 24, we will celebrate the 105th birth anniversary of Madame Kim Jong Suk, a great figure in Korean history. This is an opportunity to recall this extraordinary figure and show why it is so important.
We live in times of the flood of the Western 'decadent mode of life', where the role models of heroes of everyday life are created by values far removed from such moral and social values as patriotism, dedication to others or revolutionary spirit and strength to fight evil created by man for man through exploitation in the capitalist system. It is in present times, when the American way of life and culture, which is aggressively imposed everywhere and promotes an easy and pleasant life, has long forgotten about promoting such values as dedication, devotion to the family and patriotism with love of the homeland. These values have been replaced by the promotion of an easy and rich life, and a selfish and idle concern for one's own individual needs without regard for anything or anyone”
The representative of KFA Greece stressed the great achievements of comrade KIM JONG IL and his devotion to the people and praised the life of Madame KIM JONG SUK .
A member of KFA recalled visiting the DPRK Embassy in London in 2011 to pay respects to Chairman KIM JONG IL on his passing and shared a picture of himself in the Embassy .
Dr Hudson referred to the anniversary of comrade KIM JONG IL being appointed as Supreme Commander of the KPA which carried forward the work of Juche-army building initiated by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG . Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN also made great achievements in leading the army as its supreme commander . Dr Hudson said that the militant revolutionary slogan “ Let Us Live Our Own Way ‘ was put forward by comrade KIM JONG IL in December 1978.
Participants stressed that it was also the 10th anniversary of the successful launch of the Kwangmyongsong 3-2 satellite by the DPRK which was a great victory for Juche and self-reliance as the satellite was launched using 100 per domestic resources and technology .
A message to respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted .
The documentary ‘ Turning Sorrow into Strength and Courage‘ was shown and also the music video `` We Will Travel the One Road Together”.
