Yesterday(26.09.2022) the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office(FCDO) issued a statement condemning an as yet unconfirmed and alleged ballistic missile launch by People’s Korea.
The FCDO did not bother to seek confirmation from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK ) or independent observers that the DPRK had in fact launched a ballistic missile . In fact the details are hazy as such .
It is noteworthy that throughout its statement the FCDO fails to use the correct title for the DPRK and instead refers to it as ‘North Korea ‘ .This is an affront to the DPRK .
As to the alleged missile launch being in violation of UN Security Council (UNSC)sanctions, the DPRK has never recognised such sanctions and rejects .It is not bound by any UNSC sanctions.
The FCDO also calls for the complete and unilateral abandonment of the DPRK’s nuke and missile programme . This is a denial of the DPRK’s independent right of self-defence and a violation of its sovereignty .Moreover “denuclearisation ‘ is just a code word for regime change and the overthrow of the socialist system in the DPRK .
Britain must not try to interfere in the affairs of the DPRK and should stop siding with the US !
