The Korean Friendship Association UK (KFA UK ) together with KFA Greece plus the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea , the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK and the Juche Idea Study Group of Greece held an online meeting to mark the Day of Songun , the 62nd anniversary of the start of the Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL . Participating in the meeting were KFA UK and BGSJI members from London , West of England , South of England and Staffordshire plus KFA Greece , KFA Spain , KFA Bulgaria, KFA Switzerland and KFA Mexico . Non KFA members also participated .Speeches and messages were received from KFA Italy, KFA Austria and KFA Uruguay .
Dr Dermot Hudson, Chairman of KFA UK and Chairman of the British Group for the Study of Juche Idea , opened the meeting welcoming participants and stressing the importance of the Day of Songun .
In his presentation Dr Hudson clarified the nature of Songun clearing up misconceptions . Dr Hudson explained that “
Under the Songun revolutionary leadership the KPA discharged its role of defender of the gains of socialism with honour. In the confrontation between the DPRK and the US -led imperialist forces after the Fatherland Liberation War, the DPRK won victory; for example in the 1968 ‘Pueblo ‘ incident , the EC121 spy plane shootdown in 1969 ,the Panmunjom incident of 1976 and the confrontations over the the nuclear issue in the 1990s and 2000s, Thanks to the Songun revolutionary leadership , the independence and security of the DPRK was safeguarded and the defence power increased.
Thanks to the Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG and eternal Chairman KIM JONG IL , DPRK became a strategic state, a socialist nuclear power of Juche .”
The Communications Secretary of KFA Greece and head of the Cultural Office of KFA Greece and founding member of the Juche Idea Study Group of Greece in his speech said “As the 25 th of August draws near, the Korean People strongly uphold the Great Leader Generalissimo Comrade Kim Jong Il in their hearts, and so do we, as he honour his activities and legacy today, with this current seminar… Today, I want to talk about how Generalissimo Comrade Kim Jong Il
was always close to the people, and in fact, was actually a part, a
member of the working mass of the Korean People, very unlike the
“leaders’’ of his time, or even our own time”
The contribution of KFA Spain said “From the KFA branch in Spain I would like to salute you and thank you for the organization of this online seminar.August 25 is the anniversary of the beginning of the guidance of His Excellency Chairman Kim Jong Il in the Korean Revolutionary Armed Forces.
It is a day of celebration and indeed a very significant day, for the Dear
Leader was the faithful continuator of the labour by Eternal President,
His Excellency Kim Il Sung, through the Juche Idea and Socialism
applied to the Korean reality, and the Songun Policy to the defense of it construction and maintenance: for it is clear that the revolution is built
and defended by the force of the arms.”
The contribution of KFA Switzerland praised the DPRK for going along the road of Songun and maintaining independence . It also made reference to the speech made by President KIM IL SUNG on the 20th of August 1945.
The song “The Vanguard of Songun Knows No Mercy’ was played .
A speaker from KFA South of England branch said that the US aggression and military exercises against the DPRK were wrong .
In answer to a question, Dr Hudson said that the DPRK had completely eliminated Covid 19 in the space of 91 days . He also denounced the south Korean puppets for spreading Covid 19 into the DPRK .
Contributions sent in by KFA Austria , KFA Italy and KFA Uruguay were read out by the Communications Secretary of KFA Greece . The contribution of KFA Uruguay greeted the meeting and wished it success .
KFA Austria in their contribution wrote that “I view Songun as the second pillar of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism. The first pillar is Juche of course. Korea always did its best to stand on its own two feet. To keep
independence from foreign powers, yet never hostile” .The detailed and in depth contribution of KFA Italy said in part ‘ Our task today is very difficult but necessary and glorious: the DPRK constitutes a shining example and, as the beacon light of socialism in the 21st century, it is showing us the path ahead to transform our societies and ourselves. This e-seminar, co-hosted by the UK and Greek branches of the KFA,”
A resolution against the crime of the south Korean puppets and defectors was carried by the meeting .
A letter to dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted .
A short film clip “Songun Politics lights the way for Korea” was shown .
