KFA UK West of England branch held a meeting / 'Seminar Day ' on Saturday 28th of May at 1300 hours in the Memorial Hall , Taunton , Somerset , West of England . It was attended by representatives of KFA UK and KFA UK West of England as well as the new Official Delegate of KFA in the Netherlands , also attending were trade unionists from the West of England .
This was the second time that KFA UK carried the fight to defend People's Korea to the West Country . The meeting was also livestreamed and the livestream was viewed a large number of people .
Dr Dermot Hudson , Chairman of KFA UK and Official Delegate of KFA for the UK addressed the meeting on the subject of "Defending People’s Korea -exposing the lies of the mainstream media " . Dr Hudson said that "There is no doubt that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea or DPRK for short , or People’s Korea or Juche Korea is one of the most demonised countries in the world . In fact until the Russia -Ukraine war started and the imperialists turned on Russia , the DPRK was the No 1 most demonised country in the who wod le with a massive propaganda machine working 24/7 against it . I am not here to discuss the rights and wrongs of the Ukraine war but the vilification of both Russia and the DPRK illustrates that any country asserting itself against the imperialist West , anyone country standing up for its rights and any country going its own way will face the wrath of the imperialists and an unending torrent of lies and slanders .
People’s Korea also faces demonization and vilification because is a genuine socialist country. Despite the raging winds of anti-socialism, the new wave of post-modernist anti-communism and the setbacks that have occurred, the DPRK is maintaining socialist principles. Moreover despite 60 years of sanctions and blockade plus natural disasters the DPRK is implementing popular welfare policies such as free education, free housing, free medical care without taking a penny from its citizens in tax' .
Dr Hudson thoroughly exposed the lies of the Guardian 'newspaper and Dr John Campbell about People's Korea . He also detailed the anti-DPRK propaganda networks of the US imperialists and south Korean puppets including NKNews .
Alan Bolon head of KFA UK West of England and KFA UK Organisation Secretary gave a lecture on the subject ' Workers' Party of Korea , revolutionary vanguard of the Korea
n working class ' in which he gave a detailed and comprehensive account of both the history of the Workers' Party of Korea as as as its nature , mission and role . Comrade Bolon pointed that the Workers Party of Korea has a working class and popular character . He explained the WPK's symbol of the hammer , sickle and writing brush . Comrade Alan gave an account of the WPK's role in socialist construction as well as its profound anti-revisionist and anti-imperialist nature . Comrade Alan also refuted ultra left and dogmatist slanders about the WPK.
The new Official Delegate of KFA Netherlands briefly addressed the meeting saying that he had seen many homeless, beggars and hooligans in the part of London that he was staying but there were none in the DPRK.
