Commentary on the DPRK Military Parade for the 90th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army (KPRA )

DPRK military parades are always good , very good in fact . Each one is always  better than the one before it . This reflects the nature of the DPRK , a dynamic society that does not mark time but constantly advances and is moving forward . It is a society that looks to the future . In Britain  it is common for people or at least people of the older generation to say ‘ things were better in the 1970s/1960s/1950s ‘ or that ‘things were done properly in those days ‘ . However in People’s Korea the present is better and tomorrow will be even better .

The parade on the 25th of April was truly excellent and awesome . It surpassed those parades that were held in 2020 and 2021 . Our delegations watched in person DPRK military parades in 2012 , 2013, 2015 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 but the recent parade exceeded those in all sorts of ways ; uniforms , equipment and weaponry  . It was amazing to watch on Youtube . It was stunning to see the sky drivers parachuting into KIM IL SUNG square and the wonderful displays by the KPA Air Force . Also the parade was very inclusive and innovative for example it had tracker dogs marching with their handlers in it . There were columns of traffic security women,counter-pandemic workers and also the Ministry of State Security . It was probably the first time in a socialist country for state security workers to participate in a military parade.

The parade for the 90th anniversary of the KPRA was the 12 DPRK military parade in 10 years; only People’s Korea can stage this number of military parades ! No doubt there will be a spectacular military parade in July 2023 to mark the 70th anniversary of the DPRK’s victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War against the Yankee imperialist aggressors .

The fact that People’s Korea can stage bigger and better parades particularly at a time when the world is gripped by the global health crisis and the country faces extreme sanctions by the imperialists  is surely a testament to the superiority of the socialist system and the Juche Idea and Songun Idea.
