The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Korean Friendship Association of the UK organised an online meeting to mark the 40th anniversary of the publication of ‘ON THE JUCHE IDEA by the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL . The meeting was held on the 30th March and began at 1900 hours . Participating in the meeting were members of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and KFA UK from London , Staffordshire , West of England,northeastern England and Scotland . Also international guests including KFA Bulgaria .
Dr Dermot Hudson chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and Chairman of KFA UK introduced the meeting saying that the anniversary of the publication of “ON THE JUCHE IDEA ‘ by the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL 40 years was a great and significant event . Juche is the guiding ideology of the DPRK .
In his speech to the meeting Dr Hudson said that ‘ ON THE JUCHE IDEA ‘ a secret weapon for revolutionaries. Society will not change of its own accord . No matter how many people there are unemployed and homeless, if the working class is not equipped with socialist ideology and class consciousness and worse still have their heads full of capitalist ideology such as individualism and consumerism then there will be no revolution . Similarly if in a socialist country people do not have the consciousness that they are the masters of society and worse still have no faith in the superiority of socialism , then people will not work properly,there will be losses in socialist construction and the eventual collapse of socialism .This has been proven in practice by the
traumatic events of 1989 to 1991.
After its publication in 1982 ON THE JUCHE IDEA was translated into many different languages and seminars were held on it were held all over the world . It was hailed as a new Communist Manifesto .A number of books such as ‘ The Immortal Juche Idea ‘ by Kim Chang Ha were written to explain the Juche Idea in depth .
"ON THE JUCHE IDEA '' is a powerful work that cuts through dogmatism , revisionism and the idea of relying on big powers . It is a new "Communist Manifesto'' of the times. I strongly recommend everyone to read and reread it.”
The secretary general of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and head of Staffordshire KFA UK branch in his presentation pointed out that the work ‘ON THE JUCHE IDEA ‘ for the first ever time systematised the Juche Idea and presented in a structural format . The work proved that the Juche Idea goes far beyond the idea of self-reliance and stresses that the masses are the masters of the revolution and construction , that they are the subject of the revolution rather than the object of the revolution . Moreover , ‘ON THE JUCHE IDEA ‘ can be more readily understood than the classics of Marxism-Leninism which were written for a given historical period whereas ‘ON THE JUCHE IDEA ‘ is a general work and is timeless .
The chairman of KFA UK West of England branch and Organisation Secretary of KFA UK said that the section on socio-historical principles is a very important one . Moreover , the work shows that the Juche Idea has some principles and ideas in common with the ideas of the founders of Marxism-Leninism including Mao Zedong and has a certain continuity with Marxism -Leninism . However at the same time the work shows that in fact the Juche idea has new and original features that were not mentioned in the classics of Marxism -Leninism such as the idea that man is the master of everything .
Speakers pointed out the great international significance of the Juche Idea and how it was studied in many countries.
Speakers at the meeting said that ‘ON THE JUCHE IDEA ‘ should be re read and re read as it is a great work indicating the road for class , national and human liberation .
