Pyongyang, March 29 (KCNA) -- The 1st Workshop of Officials in the Information Field of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) started at the April 25 House of Culture on Monday.
The workshop will serve as an important occasion in modeling the whole society on the great revolutionary idea of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and in strengthening the fighting efficiency of the whole Party and redoubling the motive force of advance peculiar to our-style of socialism by further enhancing the militant function and role of the information sector in the responsible struggle to achieve the prosperity and development of the state and the people's happiness under the uplifted banner of the ideology-first principle.
The workshop will deal with the ways for bringing about a decisive innovation in all spheres of the ideological work as demanded by the new developing stage of our revolution and the changing reality, on the basis of deep study and understanding of the immortal exploits made by Kim Jong Un in the Party's ideological work as well as of comprehensive and substantial analysis and review of the experiences and lessons in the work of the Party information sector.
Attending the workshop were officials of organizational and information and publicity departments of provincial, city and county Party committees and other Party committees that perform the same function, leading party officials of ministries and national institutions, information workers of institutions, industrial establishments and co-op farms, officials in the field of the preservation of revolutionary relics and officials of relevant departments of the Party Central Committee.
The workshop was opened on March 28.
The platform of the workshop venue was taken by Ri Il Hwan, Kim Jae Ryong, O Il Jong, Ju Chang Il, Ri Tu Song and other leading officials of the Organizational Leadership Department, the Information and Publicity Department and relevant departments of the WPK Central Committee, information secretaries of the provincial Party committees, information officials of the Cabinet and ministries and officials of important units in the information field.
Ri Il Hwan, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee, courteously read out an important letter "On Eliminating Formalism and Bringing about a Fundamental Innovation in the Party's Ideological Work" sent by Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the WPK, to those attending the 1st Workshop of Officials in the Information Field of the WPK.

The reporter said that the intention of the Party Central Committee in holding the workshop is to further strengthen the single-minded unity, an invincible might of our-style socialism, by making an innovation in the Party ideological work in keeping with the new demand of our developing revolution and to accelerate the victorious advance of the socialist cause by stirring up the people's enthusiasm for revolution, struggle and creation.
Noting that the rapid progress in the new century of Juche put our country on the position of a superpower with tremendous might and ushered in a new era of great change and steady prosperity in which our-style socialism advances victoriously with confidence, he stressed that this proud change is a miracle of history proving the greatness of Kim Jong Un's revolutionary idea and its great vitality.
Kim Jong Un put forward such unique ideas and theories as the strategy of lasting significance for our revolution, the idea on Kim Jong Il's patriotism, the politics of the people-first principle, the idea on our state-first principle and the idea on the comprehensive development of socialism, he said, adding that they serve as an invincible great programme and a powerful weapon for inspiring all the people to the historic advance for adhering to our-style socialism and achieving a fresh victory.
Kim Jong Un clarified the general mission of the Party ideological work through his energetic ideo-theoretical activities and comprehensively expounded the theoretical and practical issues arising in improving the ideological work in accordance with the demand of the times and the developing revolution, the reporter said, and went on:
The ideas and theories, advanced by the General Secretary, including the idea and theory of strengthening the five-point education and turning the entire Party into a studying party and the policy on setting the orientation, goal and method of the Party ideological work in a far-sighted way and thoroughly implementing them and on constantly enhancing the infiltration and effectiveness of the ideological work, are immortal important guidelines for bringing about an innovation in the Party ideological work.
The General Secretary has wisely led the work to strengthen the internal strength and advance socialist construction to the victory by dint of ideology.
Under his energetic and detailed guidance, a new turn was brought about in the work of preserving the revolutionary relics and education in the revolutionary traditions and a new term was opened throughout the country in arming with the revolutionary spirit. Miraculous successes have been achieved in the whole socialist construction as the information and publicity work was conducted in accurately-targeted and focused methods.
The devoted leadership provided by the General Secretary, who sent open letters and passionate appeal encouraging all the people and further arousing the surging zeal of the whole Party, all the people and the entire army, was the motive force that made our people be persons strong in spirit who know no fear under any trials and our state display its dignity as one working great miracles.
The reporter said that it is the traditional leadership mode of our Party to accelerate the advance of the revolution by dint of ideology and information and inspiration, and the ideological front is a frontline of the revolution and socialist construction at present and in the future, too.
The reporter stressed the need to heighten the degree of ideological campaign and intensify the information and motivation offensive so as to successfully carry out challenging tasks at the present time when we are faced with the important and responsible task to model the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and vigorously promote the comprehensive development of the Korean-style socialist construction.
Stressing it is the basic mission and general goal of our Party's ideological work at present to model the entire Party and the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, the reporter called on the Party information workers to become vanguard fighters in carrying out the sacred cause of modeling the entire Party and the whole society on the revolutionary idea of the respected General Secretary.
He said that the Party information workers should be buglers of advance of the Workers' Party of Korea who make our Party's voices incessantly resound across the country and arouse all the people to a struggle for the comprehensive development of the Korean-style socialist construction.
He stressed the need to hold fast to the education in the revolutionary history of the leaders and the Party's leadership feats as the primary task of the Party work and effect a new turn in the work for defending and glorifying the revolutionary history and leadership feats, a vital issue related with the destiny of our revolution.
He called for grasping the essence and contents of celebrated works of the respected General Secretary and Party literatures, regarding them as an immovable creed and the absolute standard of thinking and actions, and becoming standard-bearers of ideological work and an advanced group of the revolution who find boundless pride and worth in training all members of society into genuine Kimilsungists- Kimjongilists.
The reporter pointed out that the entire country should be brought to life with the spirit of fresh progress and leaps forward by conducting the ideological work systematically, purposefully, strategically and tactically and making full use of all information and inspiration force and means.
He called for smashing formalism in the ideological work, and surveying issues arising in practice of the ideological work and taking proactive measures.
He stressed the importance to decisively wipe out the anti- and non- socialist practices obstructive to the modeling of the whole society on the monolithic idea through a powerful ideological offensive.
The reporter called on the Party information workers to make redoubled efforts to fulfill their sacred mission before the Party, the revolution, the country and the people.
