KIM JONG IL: A LIFE DEDICATED TO THE CONSOLIDATION OF SOCIALIST KOREA
On February 16, 1942, 80 years ago, Kim Jong Il was born, the Beloved Leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), whose life has been of great importance for the destiny and development of not only the Korean people, but also of the progressive peoples of the world.
Champion of the cause of the Independence of the world
Kim Jong Il was born as the son of guerrillas in a secret camp on Mount Paektu, in the midst of the armed struggle of Korean revolutionaries to liberate the country from the Japanese colonial occupation that took place under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung.
Through brilliant and tireless ideo-theoretical activities, the publication of the work "ON THE JUCHE IDEA" among others, has comprehensively synthesized and systematized the Juche idea created by Kim Il Sung and has given scientific answers to the theoretical and practical in realizing the independence of Humanity; thanks to him the progressive peoples have been able to possess a powerful ideological and theoretical weapon to build a new independent world, peaceful and free from aggression and war.
At the end of the last century, when imperialism proclaimed the end of Socialism as a result of the collapse of socialism in some countries, Kim Jong Il published successive works including; “THE HISTORICAL LESSON IN BUILDING SOCIALISM AND THE GENERAL LINE OF OUR PARTY” (January 1992), “ABUSES OF SOCIALISM ARE INTOLERABLE ” (March 1993), “SOCIALISM IS SCIENCE” (November 1994), with which he has scientifically demonstrated the fairness, the veracity of socialism and the inevitability of his victory, on the other hand dealing a devastating blow to all the anti-socialists on the planet who tried to prevent socialism in Korea and the independence of the world.
Kim Jong Il took the lead to lead the cause of independence in the world, always waiting for socialist Korea, with its practical example in the unyielding anti-imperialist struggle, to give encouragement and courage to the countries and nations that aspire to independence.
In January 1968 when the Korean Navy had captured the US armed spy ship "Pueblo" in its territorial waters, the US threatened it with retaliatory action and all-out war if it did not return the captured ship and crew. "There will be no return of the crew without official apologies, and even with apologies there will be no return of the ship since she is our trophy"; was Kim Jng Il's response to the arrogance of the empire, and with this definitive declaration he has brought the American empire to its knees.
During his lifetime, Kim Jong Il met with many heads of state and political party leaders, even those from enemy countries such as former President Clinton and Secretary of State Albright of the United States and Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi who visited Korea. , all those who, above nationality, religion, political idea or vision, saw with interest his principled point of view regarding the independence of the world.
World Peace Advocate
The greatest merit of Kim Jong Il for independence in the world is that with the original Songun policy (prioritization of military issues), with which he opened a hole in the unipolar system led by the North American empire and in the obsolete political structure power-centered international community, and staunchly advocated peace and security on the Korean peninsula, in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world.
This Songun policy in unprecedented in world political history arises from the firm conviction that only invincible military might is the only guarantee to defend sovereignty and national dignity, peace and lasting stability in the world, since at present the sovereignty and justice in many countries are brutally trampled on and violated by the arrogance and arbitrariness of the imperialists based on their military forces.
The Songun policy has elevated the Korean People's Army and the country's overall defense capability to the level of world powers, and put an end to the international jungle law order imposed by the imperialists led by the US empire. With the invariable and firm Songun line and the leadership of Kim Jong Il, Korea has become an impregnable fortress, an undefeated military power endowed with a powerful nuclear deterrent. And with the might and force of Songun politics, he resolutely crushed the extreme war threats and provocations of the US.
If the DPRK had not had this military power, the Korean peninsula would not have avoided the war catastrophe that Iraq and Afghanistan have suffered. It should be noted that recognized military analysts have said that a possible war on the Korean peninsula would leave humanity with 4 holocausts; the economic loss of 20 billion dollars, the destruction of more than 500 cities, the death of more than a billion lives and the desertification of the entire Earth.
The extraordinary political ability and leadership of Kim Jong Il have been clearly manifested at the end of the 20th century when the East-West confrontation was reduced to the confrontation between Korea and the USA during which the Korean leader has not only safeguarded Socialism from his country subjected to the terrible conditions and vicissitudes but has also led to the rebirth and new rise of world Socialism that was on the eve of disappearance.
The collapse of the Soviet Union and other socialist countries in Eastern Europe, the isolation and suppression machinations of the allied forces of imperialism, the successive natural calamities and severe economic difficulties and food shortages have been the reality in which Korea found itself. Under this fatal circumstance, the choice of leader Kim Jong Il was to hoist the Songun flag higher, a policy of giving priority to military affairs, thanks to which the Korean People's Army has become stronger as an armed force more powerful in ideology and courage and the most prepared in military technology. Korea has been internationally recognized as a military power that no enemy would dare against; In the face of increasingly aggravating nuclear threats, the United States has become a country with nuclear weapons, which constitutes a solid guarantee to ensure the peaceful environment, necessary for the construction of economic power, and for the peace and security of Northeast Asia and the world.
With the Songun policy, leader Kim Jong Il has led the immense intelligence and talent of his people to new creations and leaps for the construction of socialist economic power. He has placed the army as the pillar of the country and the revolution so that all the people, following the example of the revolutionary spirit and combativeness of the military, will record extraordinary successes in preparing the jumping-off springboard in economic construction. Modern poultry and livestock production plants, numerous factories and monumental buildings were built all over the country, CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) technology was introduced in the mechanical industry and other new technologies in iron production systems in the metallurgical industry. With the successful launches of the satellites Kwangmyongsong-1 in October 1998 and Kwangmyongsong-2 in April 2009, all 100% domestic, the power of the socialist Korean economy has been demonstrated. The third Kwangmyongsong-3 practical satellite was launched in December 2012 after his passing.
The DPR of Korea, of which the US and the West preached its collapse, has now become one of the few countries capable of manufacturing its own satellites and possessing nuclear weapons, victoriously defying the threats, blockades and sanctions of the imperialists. This Korean victory is due to Kim Jong Il, the eternal leader of the Korean people, to whom humanity pays the highest tribute on his 80th birthday.
