The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK),the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea(BGSJI),the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula(BSCPRKP)issued a joint statement supporting the decisions of the significant meeting of the 6th Political Bureau of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea ;
Recently the Politcal Bureau of the 8th Central Commitee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) held its 6th meeting in Pyonyang under the guidance of the General Secretary of the WPK , respected Marshal KIM JONG UN . At the meeting a resolution titled ' On celebrating with splendor the 110th birth anniversary of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung and the 80th birth anniversary of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il". The Political Bureau of the WPK decided to celebrate the highy signiificant national holidays of the DPRK in grand style stressing that 'No holidays are more significant than the Day of the Sun and the Day of the Shining Star for our Party and people struggling to carry forward and accomplish the revolutionary cause of the President and the Chairman under the uplifted banner of great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism. '. This is indeed a momentous decision of the Political Bureau of the WPK.
We are sure that the Korean people under the leadership of the WPK will meaningfully and splendidly celebrate the 110th birth anniversary of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG and the 80th birth anniversary of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL .
The Political Bureau of the WPK also discussed the threat to independence and sovereignty of the DPRK being posed by the continued and unending hostile policy of the US . Although the DPRK held several summits with the US and also took a number of steps to reduce tension , the US has continued with military exercises and also brought a large quantity of military hardware into south Korea . Recently the US nuclear submarine , the USS Nevada , has appeared in Guam and is a direct threat to the DPRK . Moreover the US has imposed more than 20 sanctions on the DPRK and even tried to railroad additional sanctions through the UN Security Council . The meeting noted that 'All the facts clearly prove once again that the hostile policy towards the DPRK will exist in the future, too as long as there is the hostile entity of U.S. imperialism.' . This is indeed true . The aggressive , predatory and reactionary nature of US imperialism can never change as long as the earth exists .
Seeing that the threat posed by the US and its hostile policy has reached the danger line , the Political Bureau of the WPK resolved to bolster national defence and to resume temporarily suspended activities . This is the correct decision and indeed a momentous one which will safeguard the independence and sovereignty of the DPRK . It is a just decision to which will defend the socialist system of the Korean style and the destiny of the Korean people.
It is the independent and sovereign right of the Korean people to take whatever counter-measures including ICBM test and nuclear test , to defend their socialist system and their lives .
Our organisations strongly support and applaud the great decisions of the 6th Political Bureau meeting of the 8th Central Commitee of the WPK !
