DPRK's History of Self-reliance (30)

Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- It has been ten years since the start of the new century of Juche in the DPRK.

In those days, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un at the significant congresses of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and important meetings like plenums of the WPK Central Committee and in his historic new year addresses stressed the idea that self-reliance is the only way out.

He set forth such slogans as "Let us accelerate the victorious advance of socialism with the great spirit of self-reliance and self-development as the dynamic force!" and "Let us open a new road of advance for socialist construction under the uplifted banner of self-reliance!" and visited many units to instill deeper in the minds of the people the truth that self-reliance is the only way out.

Over the past ten years, the Korean people fully displayed their enthusiasm for building a socialist power in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance under his leadership.

As a result, many creations of self-reliance came into being one after another. Among them are the Munsu Water Park, Mirim Riding Club, Masikryong Ski Resort, Wisong Scientists Residential District, Sci-Tech Complex, Mirae Scientists Street, Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station and the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort.

In the construction of Ryomyong Street, the framework for tens of blocks of apartment houses including the 70-storied building was completed in a little more than four months after the start of the project. This construction speed well showed the stamina of the DPRK rapidly advancing by dint of self-reliance while overcoming the worst challenge.

Amid the demonstration of unlimited potentials of the self-supporting economy and the revolutionary spirit and fighting tradition of self-reliance, model and standard factories of the age of knowledge-based economy appeared in different parts of the country and the strongest national defence capability was provided.

Under the guidance of Kim Jong Un, the national power of the DPRK and its external position were remarkably exalted to bring the era of our state-first principle to this land.

At the 8th WPK Congress in January of this year, he declared that the era of our state-first principle is a new era of self-respect and prosperity, which was born as a result of the WPK making all possible efforts for the people and determinedly building up its own force, boldly facing all kinds of challenges of history, a result of the do-or-die struggle for exalting the dignity and position of the state.

The era of our state-first principle is now further shining thanks to Kim Jong Un who has displayed the dignity and might of the country with his distinguished leadership while providing the people with a happy life despite the serious and manifold difficulties. -0-
