A meeting of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea ,the Korean Friendship Association of the UK and Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK, to mark the 76th anniversary of Korea’s liberation was held at 1630 hours on the 14th of August .
Participating was the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, KFA UK , KFA UK Staffordshire , KFA Greece , KFA Switzerland and KFA Australia as well progressive labour movement activists from London and a Canadian friend of People’s Korea.. A message from the Brazilian Centre for Songun Politics was received and read out.
The message of the Brazilian Centre for the Study of Songun Politics said in part ‘ The 15th of August represents the undisputed victory of President Kim Il Sung's methods and notes on the character of the national liberation struggle and fully demonstrates that his principles were right from the start and that otherwise Korea would not have been liberated.
By adopting the revolutionary line of fighting with guns in hand, President Kim Il Sung rightly organized the entire Korean people around the Revolution that combined socialism with Korean-style national liberation.
The fight against Japan involved broad sectors of the entire society, including youth, women and democratic groups that would have no voice elsewhere.’
Dr Dermot Hudson concluded his speech saying that ‘ With the victory of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army , commanded by the great leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG ,in August 1945 the Korean people finally gained their emancipation from the cruel shackles of Japanese colonialism and greeted a new life of independence , a life of hope for the future.
After liberation under the leadership of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG the people of Korea built a new thriving country of independence, a country which in the words of even enemies has "undiluted sovereignty " .Under the banner of self-reliance the Korean people are further consolidating the independence of the country and building a fine and might independent power of Juche.The Korean people now have lives of independence and creativity .
Today People's Korea ,the land of Juche ,pulsates with independence under the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN who carries forward the great line of independence developed by great President KIM IL SUNG . Self-reliance and Juche have been validated in practice , for example the DPRK has been able to close its borders for 19 months and survive when some countries could not last for a few days . Moreover the DPRK can produce anything from a wrist watch to an ICBM . This is the precious fruit of the anti-Japanese armed struggle .”
The chief of Staffordshire KFA UK branch brought greetings from Staffordshire KFA UK and said that Korea’s liberation on the 15th of August was a great event . He strongly condemned the division of Korea pointing out that no one voted for Korea's division and no one wanted the US to be in Korea. He called for support for the KFA UK weekend of action and for support from the peace movement for KFA UK .
The representative of KFA Greece said that Korea’s liberation was a very important event . The people of the DPRK are free . However south Korea is occupied by the US but the south Korean people struggle for reunification and against the US presence . However the liberal media do not report anti US demonstrations in south Korea.
Representatives of KFA Australia and KFA Switzerland brought greetings to the meeting .
Dr Dermot Hudson pointed out that the US and south Korea are going to hold war exercises in south Korea aimed at regime change in the DPRK and at the same time the British Aircraft carrier strike group will visit south Korea . This is an attempt to intimidate the DPRK and put pressure on it . At the same time the British government is imposing sanctions on the DPRK and the so-called All Party Parliamentary Group on north Korea is calling for regime change in the DPRK . Dr Hudson denounced this and called for support for KFA UK ‘s campaign .
A message to respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted.
A rendition of ‘ We Follow Only You ‘ was played on the piano by the representative of KFA Greece.
