Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun on Tuesday in an article says that the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) is precious wealth of Juche Korea associated with the noble love of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for overseas compatriots.
Under the warm care and leadership of the peerlessly great men, Chongryon has developed into the most powerful and proud Juche-type organization of overseas Koreans which struggles for their homeland and nation, the article says, and goes on:
The history of Chongryon spanning over 60 years is characterized by its patriotic devotion.
Since its foundation, Chongryon has kept it as its main line on organization building to establish the Juche-based ideological and leadership system with the immortal Juche idea as its steadfast guideline. It has achieved the unity and cohesion of the ranks based on loyalty to the leader, safeguarded the leader’s idea and exploits from vicious maneuvers of inside and outside reactionaries and firmly defended the precious gains of the patriotic struggle.
It, as befitting its popular nature, built its organizations at all levels, affiliates of different social strata and enterprises, ranging from its Central Standing Committee to the lowest-echelon organizations, to firmly rally a broad spectrum of Koreans in Japan around the organizations. It has positively struggled for their democratic national rights and promotion of their well-being as the consistent mouthpiece, resolute defender and kind servant for their rights and interests.
The Koreans in Japan, who suffered from absence of rights and hard life while being subjected to all indignities in a foreign country, now lead an honorable life full of national pride and self-confidence as overseas citizens of the sovereign and independent state. It is the result of the positive efforts made by Chongryon to preserve the rights and interests of the compatriots, being responsible for their destiny.
Chongryon has waged a dynamic national patriotic movement by firmly rallying compatriots from all walks of life around it after successfully establishing its branch organizations at all levels and educational, economic, cultural and mass media institutions despite hardship on foreign soil.
