Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Friday sent greetings to Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), on the occasion of the New Year Juche 110 (2021).
The Supreme Leader said in the message that the New Year 2021 is greeted amid the sacred struggle for realizing the desire for building a great powerful nation.
He extended his warm felicitations and compatriotic greetings to the members of the Central Leadership and all the officials of Chongryon and other Koreans in Japan on the occasion of the hopeful New Year.
The message recalled that last year Chongryon won great victories in its every patriotic front through its more resolute struggle for ushering in a new heyday of the movement of Koreans in Japan despite severe trials threatening the life and interests of Koreans in Japan.
It said that the successful Conference of Representatives of Branches of Chongryon, the first of its kind in the history of the movement of the overseas compatriots, and the eye-opening successes in implementation of overall patriotic tasks can be called great prides but the greatest and the most precious success is that Chongryon has firmly protected the compatriots' lives despite the global public health crisis.
The Supreme Leader expressed thanks to the officials of the organizations, bodies and enterprises of Chongryon at all levels for doing their best to make sure that our dear compatriots and their families greet the morning of the New Year's Day with happy laughter.
He also paid high tribute to Koreans in Japan for displaying intense loyalty and patriotism in the last year's proud struggle for their country, overcoming severe trials in an alien land by getting firmly united around Chongryon organizations.
The message noted that the New Year 2021 is the one of a great turn and a grandiose struggle in which an advance toward fresh development and prosperity for realizing the people's dreams and ideals starts, under the strategy and goals dedicated to attaining prosperity in self-reliance to be set forth at the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.
The message called on Chongryon to concentrate on the anti-epidemic campaign for protecting the compatriots' life and safety and strive hard to build a harmonious and wealthy community of Koreans in Japan pure in Juche character and national identity and to achieve national reunification and prosperity by dint of idea and the single-hearted unity.
The Supreme Leader added that he will take warmer care of the officials of Chongryon and other Koreans in Japan as our great people living in an alien country and show special affection for them as ever.
He sincerely wished the trustworthy officials of Chongryon including the chairman of its Central Standing Committee and all other dear compatriots in Japan good health, and hoped that all their families would be filled with love, hope and happiness in the new year, too. -0-
