The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea the UK Korean Friendship Association held an online meeting about the 8th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea . The meeting was on the 16th of January starting at 1430hours GMT. The meeting was participated in by members of the UK KFA from London , Yorkshire , Stoke -on-Trent , the West of England and Scotland ,the Juche Idea Study Group of Ireland also participated as well as guests and observers from KFA FInland and KFA Switzerland . A written message from KFA Serbia was read out .
The message from KFA Serbia said in part that ‘
We must also recognize the significance of the historic 8th Congress of the WPK in display of a great evolution and maturity of the Revolutionary Leadership of Supreme Leader KIM JONG UN. There is a wind of change in the People’s Korea, with a renewed spirit of single-hearted unity of Korean people, a wind that brings renewed strength to enter into a new era of Juche, a new era of socialist construction in Korean style. The military parade which fully displayed the modernized might of socialist Korea with the powerful deterrent sent a clear message to anyone who thought about daring to attack the socialist system of the DPRK, the people’s fortress of Juche revolution.’
The Juche Idea Study Group of Ireland said that ‘The 8th Congress of the Workers Party of Korea has shown the world that even in these difficult and testing times that the spirit of the People behind the Party will always prevail.
We have seen the DPRK handle the threat of COVID 19 with an iron willed approach which in turn rewarded the people of the DPRK with zero cases (as confirmed by the WHO) and implementing unity among the people in their anti epidemic measures.
General Secretary KIM JONG UN will continue to work for the people and increase the unity of the people. Under his leadership we will see a ten fold increase of self reliance, construction and defence under the Juche Idea and the torch of Songun.’
Dr Dermot Hudson, Chairman of UK KFA and Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea explained the significance of the 8th Congress of the Workers Party of Korea and the role played by the WPK in the DPRK saying that ‘The Congress of the WPK was held at a time when the imperialist world was suffering from the catastrophe of Covid 19 . Many countries are in a state of lockdown with all real life political events being cancelled and only online events (such as this one ) are held . Yet People’s Korea was able to hold a major political event namely the congress of its ruling party the Workers Party of Korea. This is because People’s Korea is the only country in the world without Covid 19 thanks to the decisive and resolute counter-measures taken by the DPRK government.
The Congress was held in an atmosphere of unity and cohesion which starkly contrasted with the violence and chaos that broke out in Washington , US on the 6th of January which I believe is indicative of the profound systemic crisis of US imperialism . It should be pointed out that the WPK was not held under ideal conditions but amidst the harsh and draconian sanctions imposed on the DPRK by the US and its vassal states .’
Dr Hudson pointed out that the slogans of the WPK will be ‘ believing in the people as in heaven’ , ' single-hearted unity ‘ and ‘self-reliance ‘. Dr Hudson concluded by saying that “ The Korean people can look forward to a happier and prosperous life under the people-first policies of the Workers’ Party of Korea led by great Marshal KIM JONG UN .
Moreover the 8th Congress of the Workers Party of Korea will greatly inspire the revolutionary peoples of the world .
To conclude our duty in the UK KFA and British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea should be to unfold a big publicity campaign about the 8th Congress of the WPK and at the same time massively increase solidarity with People’s Korea “
The representative of KFA Finland said that the 8th congress of the Workers Party of Korea was a great achievement and that it was great that the DPRK was free from Covid 19 .
Other participants said that the 8th Congress of the WPK was very successful indeed and showed the strength of People’s Korea .
There was lively discussion on the 8th Congress of the WPK and the future prospects for the DPRK .
Discussions were held on future work of the UK Korean Friendship Association and the stepping up of propaganda activity.
A letter to dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted.
Meeting closed at 1700hours.
