The racist mainstream media's lies about People's Korea

                                                                      

 So a lot of nasty stories in the bourgeois media about the DPRK allegedly banning pets and ordering people to hand over pet dogs (though apparently not cats or rabbits or hamsters ) to restaurants !!! .

We feel that not too much time should be spent answering this arrant nonsense because it is RACIST plain and simple . It shows that the mainstream  media is racist , colonialist and imperialist . Much of the anti DPRK propaganda from whatever direction is racist and Euro-centric .

However just to put the record straight no DPRK law banning pets was passed in July by the Supreme People's Assembly nor was any decision banning pets made by the Central Committee or Political Bureau of the Workers Party of Korea .The story is another fantasy cooked up by the far right south Korean media and recycled with a distinctly racist tinge by the mainstream media in the West .

The pictures used in the articles about dogs in the DPRK are not actually from the DPRK but from south Korea . Our UK KFA and British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea have visited the DPRK many times but never ever been served with dog only pork , beef or chicken (and fish).

The DPRK is increasing meat production . There is no 'food crisis' 

What of the situation regarding pets in the DPRK . There is no law against pets in the DPRK nor it is considered bourgeois or decadent . However it is not practical or hygienic to keep pets such as dogs in urban areas . The favourite pet of Korean people is goldfish . Most people have a goldfish . Some people keep small dogs as pets but mostly dogs will be found in the countryside . I have encountered cats once or twice but was told that some people view them as unlucky or boring
