United States on Chopping-board of International Human Rights Fora

From DPRK Foreign Ministry website

The international society, having been tremendously shocked by the murder of black man by an American white police officer, is voicing its scathing denunciations of the racial discrimination and human rights violations in the United States.

The recent 43rd Session of the UN Human Rights Council, held at an urgent request by the African countries, discussed on racism and police violence in the U.S.

The UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination issued a statement underlining the need for the U.S. to respect the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, fulfil its obligations therefrom and take measures to eradicate the racial discrimination.

Earlier, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, in a statement on May 29, strongly denounced the commitment of murder by law enforcers in the U.S. and demanded that the U.S. should take immediate measures to completely eradicate all forms of discriminatory practices based on race or ethnic.

Former or current high-level officials from several African countries condemned the racism in the U.S., saying that it is widespread like a “great plague” and demanded a severe punishment of its ringleader.

While the vicious and brutal racial discrimination of the U.S. is triggering worldwide protest, U.S. politicians and even western media are turning their backs to the inhumane acts of violating human rights.

A Director of the National Security Council of the White House during the Obama administration deplored that the case of murder of black man by a white police officer and the rough reaction of the current U.S. administration to the protesting demonstrations should count as a totally mortal blow to the American diplomacy and these are embarrassing the American diplomats talking about “improvement of human rights” and “democracy” of other countries.

Spanish Newspaper “El Mundo” and other Western media commented that the protesting demonstrations being held in the U.S. and the countries in Europe despite the spread of large-scale global epidemic is a manifestation of indignant public feelings on the practices of racism, racial discrimination and human rights violation which are rampant in the U.S. and many other European countries.

All these speak clearly to the reality that the crime committed by the policemen in the U.S. under the cloak of “rule of law” is not a mere accidental homicide, but the outcome of the reactionary racist system of the U.S. where hate for other humankind, jungle law and the decadent way of life are prevailing and, by extension, the heinous policy for annihilation of humankind.

The International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination stipulates that State Parties shall declare illegal and punishable by law all propaganda activities which promote and incite racial discrimination.

The U.S. should no longer project itself as a “guardian of democracy” or an “advocate of human rights” but instead, let loose its local people so that they could properly breathe.
