It will be eight years since respected Marshal KIM JONG UN fully took the helm of supreme leadership in People's Korea . On the 11th of April 2012 he was elected as First Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea(WPK) by the 4th Conference of the WPK and on the 13th of April the Supreme People's Assembly elected Marshal KIM JONG UN as First Chairman of the National Defence Commission so basically he took the highest leadership positions of the Party and State after previously been appointed by the Political Bureau of the WPK as Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army at the end of December 2011 . Of course the fact that he was elected to both positions disproves the malicious propaganda of the bourgeois reactionaries in the imperialist countries who slander People's Korea as a 'dictatorship ' etc , etc.
A delegation of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea , headed by myself , was actually staying in the DPRK for the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG and to attend the World Juche Congress . I can remember the copy of Rodong Sinmun (Daily Worker ) with the news that Marshal KIM JONG UN had been elected as First Secretary of the WPK and First Chairman of the National Defence Commission .Our guide Professor Ri Mu Il kindly translated it for us .
Later on April 15th we attended the big military parade to mark the anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG . It was here that Marshal KIM JONG UN made his first public speech . Professor Ri excellently and precisely translated it for us , it was as if we were hearing the Marshal directly . I remember it clearly when he said that "It is our party’s resolute determination to let our people who are the best in the world — our people who have overcome all obstacles and ordeals to uphold the party faithfully — not tighten their belts again and enjoy the wealth and prosperity of socialism as much as they like."
This basically in a nutshell is the people-orientated policy . It was a manifestation of the resolve of Marshal KIM JONG UN to provide the best life for the people and to achieve prosperity for them. Since then the DPRK has embarked on the upward and onward path of prosperity and progress .
Visiting the DPRK again in September of the same year , 2012 , I saw for myself the new Rungna People's Pleasure Park and the Dolphinarium which was newly constructed at command of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN . The construction of Changjon Street and the People's Theatre was also completed that year I remember viewing Changjon Street from the Juche Idea Tower ,the young women from the university who were guiding us exclaimed ' Changjon Steet ! ' in happy and exalted voices . Construction projects such as Changjon Street and the Rungna People's Pleasure Park were the first of many , very many in fact , such projects .
Visiting the DPRK for the 10th time in October 2015 I was able to visit the Munsu Water Park which was constructed under the guidance of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN . Whilst I was staying in the DPRK at that time (2015 ) Mirae Scientists Street was under construction but when I came back in April 2016 Mirae Scientists Street had been completed and so had the new Sci-Tech Complex which I was able to visit . In April 2016 the construction of the massive Ryomyong Street which is the same size as a small town began . A year later when I came back it had been completed . A whole brand new street which some people say looks it is from a futuristic sci-fi film . I was told that Professor Ri Mu Il who had been my guide in April 2012 had moved with his family into a new flat in Ryomyong Street .
At the end of 2019 , the construction of the new Samjiyon City, a socialist mountain city in the far north of the DPRK was completed . I had visited the Samjiyon town as it then was in August . It was a neat clean place . However when I saw the pictures of Samjiyon City I was surprised because I did not recognise anything , it had changed beyond recognition it was a new city .
Of course I have only mentioned a few of the amazing creations in the DPRK in the past eight years , simply concentrating on those that I have witnessed . I have seen with my own eyes the face of the DPRK change several times . Creation and construction under the banner of self-reliance are going ahead at Mallima speed in the DPRK under the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN . There is no doubt about it prosperity is rising in the DPRK and this is due to the leadership and guidance of the supreme leader Marshal KIM JONG UN.
