Hello, comrades!
I would like to begin this speech thanking the respected comrade Dr. Dermot Hudson for the invitation to join this important meeting. As we always like to talk here in Brazil, comrade Dr. Hudson is a great example of inspiration for us and we really like the friendship that we have with all the comrades in Great Britain. Salutes to our another comrades in the different parts of the world.
Our meeting today is due to the celebration for the anniversary of the publication of the famous work of General KIM JONG IL «On the Juche Idea». In my brief speech, I intend to address this important fact, however, given the global emergency situation, I would like also to talk a little about Coronavirus and what we can learn from all that is happening.
The book «On the Juche Idea» was published 38 years ago. I believe that everyone here had already read this work at least once in your lives. I think it is important to remember the international context of the DPRK at the time that this importanet publication was writen. The socialist world of the early 1980s was doomed to the failure of revisionist policies in the Soviet Union and satellite countries. And even under such an international situation in which the real revolutionary ideology was being defeated, General KIM JONG IL reaffirms the Revolution in Korea through his work that synthesizes the Juche Idea developed by President KIM IL SUNG. This was an important step towards affirming the Juche Idea as a revolutionary ideology even in times of revisionism. When comrade KIM JONG IL establishes man in the center of the world and placing him as the owner of his destiny, Juche Idea give power to the popular masses to free themselves from all the bonds of capitalism and imperialism. Here in Latin America, we have great appreciation for the Juche Idea precisely because we are a continent that suffered from colonialism and imperialism, with our governments being slaves to foreign powers. The Juche Idea has its universal and scientific type proven by History.
This Korean revolutionary ideology, summed up in the work that is now 38 years old, that built a popular nation in Korea that respects human rights. For example, we all know that in the DPRK health is a completely free and universal public service, something that can scare people from other countries and even seem like a fantasy. But it is real in the socialist homeland of workers, peasants and intellectuals. As the guiding ideology of the Worker's Party of Korea, Juche also led the implementation of the Songun Policy and transformed Socialist Korea into a globally respected military and nuclear power.
At the present time the Western world is experiencing the greatest of its challenges in recent centuries. The Coronavirus pandemic has proven that countries that are governed by the market, money and the bourgeoisie are not prepared to save people's lives and promote happiness among the people. In the USA, Italy, Spain, Brazil and the United Kingdom, people are dying without access to basic public health. At the same time, in China and in Socialist Korea, it was precisely the power of a government that is made by the people that guaranteed the end of the pandemic or even the occurrence of no case, as happened in Korea. Western governments and the free market kill innocent people and destroy the people's dream, delivering either the economic crisis or the health crisis as the best gift to the people.
38 years after the synthesis of the Juche Idea published by General KIM JONG IL, we are more confident than ever that only socialism is the necessary path for human progress and for the well-being of all peoples, free from eternal exploitation and class oppression.
I wish all the comrades at this meeting good health and good health to your families too, because we in the so-called "free world" have only the horrors of the Coronavirus, while the people of the so-called "dictatorial socialism" live a happy and worthy lifes.
