The south Korean authorities earmarked defense budget for 2020 by 7.4 percent as compared with 2019 under the veil of “strong security” and “independent defense”.
It was the greatest amount increased by 1.4 percent and 1.8 percent to what was in the periods of Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye regimes.
The south Korean authorities increased the budget for coping with missiles of north Korea by 22.6 percent as compared with 2019. They allocated a stupendous amount of funds for the development of spy satellite against north Korea, stealth fighters for amounting precision strike on military strategic bases of north Korea and building of next generation Aegis destroyer.
In addition, they sharply increased the budget for development of ground-to-ground tactical guided missile, long-range air-to-ground guided weapon and defense research.
It is a undisguised military confrontation with north Korea and a thoughtless act that pushes the situation of the Korean Peninsula to a uncontrollable catastrophe.
It is an open secret that the south Korean authorities have conducted joint military exercise against north Korea in league with foreign force after the publication of the historic Panmunjeom Declaration and September Pyongyang Joint Declaration, while introducing the latest weaponry into south Korea.
“Permanent settlement of peace”, “peaceful economy” and “no war” much touted by the south Korean authorities are nothing but red herring.
It is a challenge to expectation of public sentiment of candlelight resistance and an unbearable insult to the Korean nation desirous of peace.
The south Korean people are waging nationwide campaign to foil the south Korean authorities’ move of military confrontation and military buildup, strongly criticizing the authorities’ attitude would invite a dreadful disaster.
