It has been reported that the US State Department as of August 6th has declared that all persons who have travelled to the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea since 2011 will not be liable to the Visa Waiver Scheme and must apply for the full US Visa pending approval from the US authorities.
The Staffordshire KFA Branch regards this move by the US State Department as a discriminatory measure and one that will backfire on its instigators. This draconian action has taken against travellers from various countries as well as the 2017 travel ban on US citizens, sees the US acting in violation of the spirit of cooperation and culture between nations. Are the ruling circles of the United States so afraid of the developing trend in visitor numbers on trips to the DPRK, that they fear tourists may reveal the truth about Peoples Korea to the outside world and all the stories propagated by Western Media inregard to the DPRK are found out to be just fake news! Tourists, Social-Political-Cultural Delegations and Business Organisations from Western Countries should have the freedom to travel and explore the DPRK without any threats and intimation from the US side.
The Staffordshire Branch of the UK Korean Friendship Association strongly denounces this retrograde sanction made by the Trump Administration, as it goes against the spirit of the Singapore and Hanoi Summit Meetings! Lift all travel bans, restrictions and sanctions against the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea Now!! KOREA IS ONE!! FOR A LASTING PEACE IN KOREA!!
