National Meeting Held to Mark Day of War Victory


Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- A national meeting was held at the April 25 House of Culture on Friday to mark the 66th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.

Present there were Choe Ryong Hae, Pak Pong Ju, Kim Jae Ryong and other senior officials of the Party and the government, officials of the armed forces organs, officials of the Party Central Committee, war veterans, officials of ministries and national institutions, service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, teaching staff and students of revolutionary schools, officials of institutions and industrial establishments, labor innovators, youth and students in Pyongyang and overseas compatriots.

Present there on invitation were foreign diplomatic envoys, representatives of the missions of international organizations and military attaches of foreign embassies here.

Army General Kim Su Gil, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, member of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, and director of the KPA General Political Bureau, made a report.

The reporter said that the brilliant victory in the Fatherland Liberation War on July 27, Juche 42 (1953) was a historic event which fully demonstrated the invincibility of Juche Korea to the whole world and opened up a broad avenue for vigorous advance and accomplishment of the revolution.

He went on:

The victory in the Fatherland Liberation War was a brilliant one brought about by the Juche-oriented military idea, war methods and outstanding leadership of President Kim Il Sung and the proud one by ardent patriotism and indomitable fighting spirit of the service personnel of the People's Army and people of Korea.

The President set forth the slogan "Everything for Victory in the War!", encouraged the entire Party, the whole state and all the people to turn out in the struggle for defending the country and wisely led the struggle to destroy the numerical and technical superiority of the enemies by dint of political, moral, strategic and tactical advantages.

Having a deep insight into the prevailing situation, the balance of forces between the enemy and the People's Army and the weak points of the enemy with his rare military wisdom in each stage of the war, he opened the turning phase for the war victory, dealing telling blows at the invaders by employing the Korean-style strategy, tactics and war methods.

The brave People's Army fighters opened up a road of charge by dedicating their lives to destroying the enemy pillboxes, and did not hesitate to sacrifice themselves for the defence of an inch of the country's land, shouting "Long live General Kim Il Sung!" in battlefields,.

During the war, the Chinese party, government and people sent the Chinese People's Volunteers composed of their excellent sons and daughters to support the struggle of the Korean people at the cost of their blood under the uplifted banner of resisting America and aiding Korea, safeguarding the home and defending the motherland, and thus boosted the DPRK-China friendship forged in the flames of the anti-Japanese war and strikingly demonstrated its invincibility and vitality.

The war victory exploits performed by the President who rescued twice the destiny of the country and the nation by leading the Fatherland Liberation War to victory and created the ever-victorious history and traditions of Juche Korea will be immortal generation after generation.

The proud tradition of the July 27 victory has been steadily carried forward century after century by the great brilliant commanders. Our socialist country greeted the golden age of bolstering up the national power under the outstanding guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

The reporter called for working harder to fully demonstrate the strong spirit of heroic Korea and win the brilliant victory in building a powerful socialist country of Juche, rallied close around the Supreme Leader. -0-
